Question about Philips DVDR3575H/37

1 Answer

Unit does not recognize usb flash drive.

I tried plugging in my Verbatim 4GB flash drive into the dvd player and it said it didn't recognize the flash drive. I'm looking for a compatible flash drive.

Use a 2GB or less compatible memory card - Sandisk is the best bet.

might need to format the flash drive to the phillips dvd player. make sure you back up whats on the flash drive first. plug into dvd and format it. the player should ask you if you want to format flash drive. because when you format the flash drive it will erase all data on it. then reload the data back on the flash drive. try again

BD-HP21 cannot find update on my flash drive. Formatted the flash drive twice (FAT32 & NTFS) extracted the zip file on to the hard drive and copied the update file to the flash drive. Help!

Let's start from the beginning again. Go ahead and reformat your usb device to fat 32 wiping everything. Next go to www.sharp.ca
Click on Service Support on the left and next click on downloads. Select Bluray, next and then your model number, done.

Then save the firmware directly to your usb device.

If the usb device is larger than 4GB it might not work.
If the download still does not work try formatting the usb device again this time to fat and then dowloading again.

You may need to reset the bluray player. Hold down the power button on the front of the unit until it says reset. Then put the usb device into the player before turning it back on. Press setup-->settings--->software update.

Update sofware via usb for bdp3000 bluray model

down load it from the manufacture onto a flash drive. unzip/read directions if needed, remove all dvds from unit, plug the flash drive into the usb port, and follow the on screen promps. now you can watch all the "new" Blue Rays ( this works on 90% of the dvd players too If you don't have a usb port get the update that goes on a data dvd ...follow those instructions

Sharp BD HP21 Won't recognize USB drives

You have to make sure the files, you downloaded to your USB stick, are not in folders. Mine worked after this. I am still having problems with pixelation on newish discs. I read somewhere that if I plugged a USB thumb drive into the Sharp HP21 it will aid the processing and work better. Does anyone know if this is true as I often get poor picture quality on what looks clean LoveFilm BR discs. (No problems with standard DVDs.)

When I put a DVD-R into the DVD-R 155 recorder to copy a TV program after a few minutes of the blue disc at spinning at the top right of my TV screen the disc is ejected with the message 'disc cannot be...

This is a Samsung DVD recorder - I've had the exact same problem - By the way, don't you mean "this disc cannot be recorded" ? These DVD recorders are known to reject certain type of discs.

* Have you updated your Samsung with the latest firmware ?
http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/download/supportDown.do?group=&type=dvdplayers&subtype=recordable&model_nm=DVD-R155&disp_nm=DVD-R155&language=&cate_type=all&dType=D&mType=FM&vType=&prd_ia_cd=03010300&model_cd=&menu=download

Follow the instructions carefuly and please understand the risks involved in flashing your drive - Do not interrupt the process, it can take long.

* here are the brands of DVD-R I have used successfuly with this recorder int he past:

Taiyo Yuiden DVD-R 4x / 8x (the optical drives used in those recorders are outdated, their writing strategies are never up to date and may not recognize some type of discs)
Maxell DVD-R 4x / 8x
Verbatim DVD-R 4x / 8x

Try another blank disc - maybe it will accept it - if it keeps rejecting all your blank DVD-R no matter what brand, you have a bad drive inside your recorder - the samsung recorders are **** - I have ever since gotten rid of that piece of **** and now use a Sony HDR-780 HDD/DVD recorder, uses pioneer components and is great !

Avoid those lens cleaners - they can do more harm than good!

I hope this helps.

Try different brands of DVD-R, avoid the cheap generic **** - drives like best Taiyo Yuden & Verbatim media id codes - they should recognize Maxells, verbatims, sony, taiyo yuden, ritek. if it keeps spitting out all discs you use, you have a defective unit. The latest firmware on that drive should also help !

Good luck :)

USB problem

It seems the DVD player is not recognizing 4GB flash disk. I have checked and I can't see that there is a firmware update for this model though I can see one for the DMR 50. Try contacting Jamo support

If you have another usb lead or a lead that can collect two usb sockets to the flash disk you may find this works as there is more 5 volts power available from two sockets.

We depend on you rating solutions - I hope this is useful.
