Nasty ***** distortion on Delta 1010's on Mac G4

I've installed my 2 delta 1010lt's to my G4 mac OSx 10.4.11.
In the pc i was using before they were both fine, no probs. As soon as I added them to the mac my DAW (Logic pro 7.2) didn't recognise the inputs of the second card so i installed the latest drivers. At first everything seemed fine but then after trying to record with inputs from both cards there was this nasty distortion like everything has bit crusher on it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling every set of drivers since the multicard function has been available. I've updated my operating system and my DAW. I've tried swapping the cards around, putting them into different slots and uninstalling the drivers, taking the cards out, reinstalling the drivers and putting the cards back in. I've tried putting one card in at a time and that works fine. I really don't know what else to try.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your first line stated the obvious; the PC can run 2 cards, but the G4 cannot. The Mac, although a 'PC' has significant hardware differences with an IBM derrved PC.

I agree with Paul's answer. Your G4's hardware is limited on the number of devices it can support at the same time. Time to upgrade to an Intel Mac perhaps? :-)

Have you tried going into system preferences and selecting the boards as your sound device? I had a similar problem and I resolved it by opining System Pref. /go to the sound symbol/ and there should be listed the boards along with your computers sound system. ...........~~~~~*BB

How do I install osx 4 on my G4?

I will assume you are talking about 10.4. You will probably need to install 10.3 first and then use an upgrade CD to get 10.4 installed. I would not install a system higher than 10.4 on this system.

How to reset the master password for g4 mac powerbook ?

1. Obtain a Mac OSX install disc (buy one from apple or try Ebay) 2. Insert the disc then click on the "Install Mac OS" icon. Then click the restart button. 3. DONT INSTALL! Just click through enough of the windows to get to the regular set of choices on the menu bar. One of those choices is UTILITIES and one of the choices there is RESET PASSWORD.
Simple, but you should know that anyone with a Mac OSX install disc can gain access to your computer.

I'm from Brazil. I would like to know if the Delta 1010 LT works with Vista 64. How I can get the driver 5.10.0.5069? ... Peace!

the new public beta Vista 64 drivers with my Delta 1010LT card and after a few "issues" all is up and running great. My only glitches were that my VSTi with my orchestra samples was not visible in the VST folder until I disabled "user permissions" in Vista. Now it's all working great.

M audio sound cards

I don't believe that is going to work, the reason being the operating system will only accept one input device recording at a time...meaning you cannot record with 2 cards simultaneously....the only way you MAY be able to pull this off is if you record with 2 separate programs , and make each program use a different input device....

Loud buzz on every output with no audio

Look in the computer music mags and look fro M-Audio dealers. Ring them up and tell them the problem your having and see how much it will cost to fix. If it's humming then it's proably broke and needs repairing. Just make sure the sampel rate isn't set too low as well
