Assuming you have located the filter at the bottom front of washer, you unscrew it anti-clockwise to remove and clean.
If there is a small screw in the filter handle, then unscrew it first, before removing filter.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Water inlet filters
On the tap part of your machine's water inlet
hose and at the ends of water inlet valves, there
are filters to prevent entrance of the dirt and
foreign materials in the water to the machine. If
the machine is unable to receive sufficient water
although your water tap is fully opened, these
filters should be cleaned.
x Remove the water inlet hose.
x Remove the filters found on the water inlet
valves by using a pincer and wash thoroughly
with a brush. (1)
x Clean the filters of the water inlet hoses
located on the tap side by removing manually
together with the seal. (2)
x After you clean the filters, you can fit them
the same way as you have removed them.

Pump filter
The pump filter system elongates the life of your
pump, which is used to drain the dirty water. It
prevents lint to enter the pump. Cleaning of your
pump filter in every 2-3 months is
recommended. To clean your pump filter:
x Open the kickplate's cover, by pulling the
handle. (2-A & 3-A)
x Before opening the filter cover, place a cup in
front of the filter cover to prevent flow of the
remaining water in the machine.
x Loosen the filter cover by rotating it counter
clockwise and drain the water. (4-A)
x Remove the foreign materials from the filter.
x Check for the rotation of the pump manually.
x After you have cleaned the pump, fit the filter
cover by rotating clockwise.
x Put the kickplate cover into place.
x Do not forget that if you do not fit in the filter
cover properly, it will leak water.

Unable to open pump fillter

Remove the kickstrip, front of the appliance. Unscrew the pump filter by rotating it anti-clockwise, A little water may leak from the pump: this is perfectly normal. Clean the interior thoroughly, removing any visible debris. Refit by screwing the filter into place.

Unable to drain the cycle water and therefore unable to retrieve washing stuck in the machine.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry you do not say the make and model of your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the filter and the motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Unable to unscrew cap on filter on washing machine

You should be unscrewing anti-clockwise to remove it, if it will not come out, then there is probably somethiung stuck in the filter preventing it from pulling out.

Try moving it from side to side as you are unscrewing and pulling.

I have a Creda 1200 washing machine, I am unable to locate the fluff filter. Does my machine have one? if not, what happens to dogs hairs etc? will they damage my machine?

The filter is at the rear of the washer.
Remove the lower rear cover of washer.
Remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Clean plastic filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well..
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

UNABLE TO REMOVE FILTER ON ZANUSSI, EVEN THOUGH UNSCREWED

Having made sure you have unsrewed it all the way, then try pulling from side to side as you are unscrewing it, if you still can;t get it out, then something is stuck inside the filter, or the filter housing, this will entail removing the pump complete to clear blockage.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Jammed washing machine filter

It is stuck because there may be something stuck in the filter, or it is the rubber seal that has expanded, try levering it out with a screwdriver or something like that, or if there is something you can grip with a pair of grips or pliers ,try pulling it out that way.
Plz rate solution.
Thanks
