There are two possibilities for this problem.any of the one is the problem. 1) the software/driver of the scanner installed in your system is got corrupted or any of the required file is missing from the software/driver.so reinstall the driver of the scanner and recheck and try to scan . 2) or its the problem of virus in your pc operating system.so its blocking your files to get scanned.so format your operating system and then check out.to format you will require the operating system cd drivers and software.but if you don't have that with you then a local pc hardware /software engineer will be helpful in this issue to format and reinstall the operating system. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

What happens after you name the file... and then doesn't take?
Is there an error or message that comes up?

Thanks!

Scanning with epson dx4450 (using Windows 8) seems to generate "damageded files"

Adobe reader cannot open .jpg files. Adobe reader is designed to read files with a .pdf file extension. PDF is a quasi-universal format that's common across multiple operating systems. If your scanner will allow you to save files in .pdf format, Adobe reader should be able to open them. Otherwise, you'll have to use a picture file viewer/editor. Most versions of Windows have a picture viewer built in.

When doing a scan ,how do I group 2 or 3 scans together to create a 2 or 3 page file ?

Mark:

You'll need adobe acrobat (the full program) to open your first page, then open the second page and copy the second page to the bottom of the first page, then copy the third page to the bottom of the second page. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat, have your scanner save the file in another format (such as WinWord), then convert to a PDF file if you need to.

I AM NOT ABLE TO SCAN DIRECTLY TO PDF FROM MY HP 4255 ALL IN ONE PRINTER

Scan directly using Adobe software from computer

  • 1 Position the first page of your document on the flatbed scanner and close the lid.
  • 2 In Adobe Acrobat, under the File menu, choose "Create PDF", then "From Scanner" and then "Custom Scan."
  • 3 In the Scan dialog box, choose your configuration settings. This will vary based on the nature of the document you wish to scan (e.g. color or black & white, images or text).
  • 4 Click "Scan."
  • 5 When the scanning process is complete, Acrobat will ask you if you wish to scan more pages into the file. If you do, position the next page on the flatbed scanner and click "Scan More Pages." Otherwise, click "Scan Is Complete."
  • 6 Repeat the above steps as necessary to scan a multi-page document.

    Hi:
Your printer is capable of scanning, but you need software to create a pdf file. There are free ones out there, such as : cutepdf , Adobe is what fedex and most offices have, but it is somewhat expensive.
Here is a link to a free one to help you out:

Need to scan a multiple page document into a pdf. Every time i attempt to do so, it scans each page and creates an individual file per page.

You must get an Adobe program to do that... OR combine them later. Adobe Professional 8 will allow scanning multiple pages into a document I use it all the time. There are also other PDF makers/converters too, to download. Another way is to scan into Word, or similar, and then "Print" as a PDF.

Lexmark 7100 scan to .pdf makes file 23 times bigger than usual

    > it should be 2-300K

Only if you use Adobe Acrobat (full version) to create the PDF.

All the "text" in the PDF will still be encoded as "scalable text fonts",
    rather than as bitmaps.

Anything you "scan" will just be zero and one values,
and the size of the file will be proportional to the amount of "black" (and/or colour) in the scanned image.

How do I add multiple pages to one scanned doucment?

Open your Adobe Acrobat (e.g., 9.0 Pro), load your pages into the document feeder (fewer than 30 at a time), then ask Adobe Acrobat to create PDF from scanner (File/Create PDF/From Scanner). Canon MP530 as the scanner and click OK. Works like a charm!

    Editable forms with Adobe reader?

With adobe profesional you can make a PDF form, and send to the recipients. They can fill the form with Adobe reader and send it to you back, but only the data will be sent to you, not all with the pdf.
You can collect the data with your adobe profesional. Your programmer of medical paperless system can make the program to put that data in your database.
    Here is the simple procedure:
    1. Create form: Open adobe prof, menu advance --> Form --> create new form. You will go to Adobe design to create the form, there you can also retrieve your scanned document.
Don't forget to put "submit button" and your email address.
    2. Then save as pdf form. It is ready to be send to your recipients.
    3. The recipients will fill the data and send to you by pushing the "submit button".
    4. You will receive the data in your mailbox, as an attachment of email. You can use adobe prof to collect it, example to put it in Microsoft Excel.
Go to menu advance --> form --> Create Spreadsheet from data files. A dialog box will come out, put in the files you received from your recipients. then go on, you will have the Excel data.
For put it in your database of your system, your programmer should create a program/ included in your system's program.

For Guest, to fill up is easy, just open the pdf form with Adobe REader, fill it and click the submit button.
