I fixed it. I was ready to do a hard reset and lose my information (already backed up), so I held down the power button and pressed the reset button, waited until the Palm rebooted and was very surprised to find that all the data on it was still there. A happy ending to my problem.

My palm tx is frozen and will not turn off

It might be best to try a semi-hard reset by depressing the button on the back of the unit (you can unscrew the end of the stylus to reveal a small poker made for this!) and then follow the onscreen instructions. It should reboot and hopefully clear any file errors that are causing problems.

Here are the steps to do a hard reset. Best wishes.

1. Press and hold down the power button.

2. While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your hand held.

3. Wait for the Palm Power logo to appear and then release the power button.

Palm TX Touchscreen does not work

Search youtube for Palm TX Digitizer Replacement and Palm TX Take Apart Direction. If you think you can do it, or know someone who can, you can order a replacement digitizer on ebay for from somewhere like

Before ordering the part, you may want to start by opening the palm and cleaning the connecting ribbon cable contacts to make sure that a loose cable or oxidation has not caused your problem.

Memos soft resets device

Sounds like you may need to clean out your memos. Are you talking about the memo icon on the screen or do you have a memo button on the button panel. If you have a memo button, there may be something wrong with it, and you may have to use the icon.
