When trying to get hold of my friend the number is just calling out, after a while it does what sounds like the engaged tone. Other times i have tried it has given me the option to txt the phone, or to try again as the phone is unavailable My txts are sending and so are my blackberry messages but not being read. My Uniden cordless phone will not ring through although I get the tone and put in the number However I can receive calls

It sounds as if your DTMF tones are slightly off frequency for some reason. I have never seen this happen with any phone, but production quality has gone down hill in recent years. As you can call your CELL but not land lines, it would appear that the tones are getting to the central office but are not necessarily being decoded correctly at their end. Try taking the phone system to a friends and try it there. if it works, you will know that it is your line and not your phone. You could also try another DTMF phone on your phone line.

One other thing to check is if you have DP (Dial Pulse) selected on the base unit. If this is selected, you will still hear the tones in your phone, but the exchange will receive dial pulses, which are almost completely unused today. Where I live, you have to pay a premium to use a DP phone now!!

Incoming caller ring

Here is the link to the user manual if you need it. http://www.motorola.com/Hellomoto/Master%20Lists/Product%20Manuals/Static%20Files/CA-EN/30277_E815EnglishUserGuide.pdf Unfortunately what callers hear is dependent on the phone they are calling from, not on your phone. You could concievably send them a mutimedia message when they call, but there is no way to automate this, and it would probably be too much trouble and expense to bother. Wait a year or two, and it may well be that manufacturers start including this feature - it would require a slight modification of the communications protocols on the cell networks, but it probably would be popular. Good idea. Hope this helps :)

Phone doesnt have dialing tone, cant make a call also when we ring home its goes to engaged tone

This means that your phone line is short circuited somewhere.
The technical name for it is Partial line Lockout.

Try unplugging anything connected to the phone line, including modems, fax machines, house alarms etc (as faulty equipment can cause this), then try ringing home again. If it now rings, plug things in 1 at a time and ring each time to see what is causing it.

If it is still an engaged tone with everything unplugged, then the short circuit is on the phone line in the street and needs to be repaired by your telephone company.

KitchenAid kemc308kss0 Micro/Oven Combo Microwave: At the end of any cycle there is a four-tone beep that will continue to beep until KINGDOM COME until you either a. open the door b. press cancel. That is...

From page 7 of your owner's manual:

All Tones (combination oven models only)

All of the above tones are preset on, but can be turned off.
To Turn Off/On: Touch and hold STOP TIME for 5 seconds. A
tone will sound and “Snd oFF” will appear on the lower oven
display for 3 seconds. Repeat to change back to “Snd on.”

Tone Volume

The volume is preset at high, but can be changed to low.

To Change: Touch and hold the number pad “7” for 5 seconds. A
tone will sound and “Snd Lo” will appear on the lower oven
display for 3 seconds. Repeat to change back to “Snd HI.”

REMINDER TONES

The Timer and Timed Cooking reminder tones are preset on, but
can be turned off. Reminder tones do not include end-of-cycle
tones. On combination oven models, if “All Tones” have been
turned off, the reminder tones cannot be independently turned
on.

Timer

To Turn Tones Off/On: Touch and hold TIMER SET • START until
a tone sounds. Repeat to turn back on.

Timed Cooking (combination oven models only)

To Turn Tones Off/On: Touch and hold COOK TIME until a tone
sounds and the lower oven display returns to inactive mode
(blank). Repeat to turn back on.

Now this sounds familiar. When you change the time and it doesn't "hold" what time does it say? Does it happen after you get a phone call? Who is providing dial tone? How are you trying to get the second call?

All of these questions tend to make me think you have VoIP or Cable company phone service. The clock is being reset by Calle-ID and that is coincidently 3 hours offset because it defaults to Pacific time.

As far as the Call Waiting, you have a FLASH/TALK key on your handset. Press it and the second call should be there. If it isn't it's probably the fault of your aforementioned dial tone provider.

I want an 'engaged tone' to sound when people try to phone me whilst I'm on another call!!

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. Is it the busy tone you want? You can deactivate your call waiting, or if you totally do not want to receive calls, you can block incoming calls through call barring if your provider supports it (menu>settings>security>call barring>activate all) or you can deceive everybody by having a ringback tone and voicemail message that sounds like a busy tone. Or perhaps you could get a phone that has that feature built in (try checking with sonyericsson because they had a phone before that could block incoming calls to specific numbers).

No dialling tone - just a beeping sound

It sounds like the handset is not 'registered' to the base station/cradle. Solution may be in the user handbook, which you should be able to download at :
