I cannot connect to the WIFI at work, but I can connect to my WIFI network at home, and other public networks. The wireless network at work is pushed by a D-Link 8200AP with a WAP security, just like it is...

Your laptop cannot connect to your work's wireless network because the security settings (ir WAP) in the D-Link is different to the security setting in your Netgear.
The wireless card in your laptop will need the settings changed to suit the D-Link's wireless settings ie the SSID and WAP.
You will need to change the wireless card settings in your laptop back to the Netgear's wireless settings to connect to your wireless network at home.
Some wireless cards allow you to set up different profiles for different wireless networks which allow you to switch wireless networks easily by just selecting the profile for the network you want to connect to.

Hi Support team, I use Modem Motorola SB100 with Linksys WAP54G, and DLink Wireless G DWA USB Adapter to connect to Linksys WAP from my PCDesktop. Connection from the PC to Linksys is ok but can't...

peter_picasa:

You cannot use a Wireless Access Point (WAP) to connect directly to your IPS's modem. A WAP does not provide the ability to share a single IP address on the internet like a router does.

Either return the WAP for a refund and buy a wireless router or buy an Ethernet wired-only router and plug the WAP into the LAN side of that router. You would then plug the WAN side of the Ethernet wired router into your modem.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Access point appears to have stopped working I cannot connect to wireless network but can connect with wired connection.

Hi!

If you can connect before then suddenly it stopped working, let's try to isolate the problem first. Usually this problem occurs if the the wireless has been interfered by some sort of interference like cordless phones and something like that. To address this problem, you can give it a try changing the channel of the access point. To do this, follow the step below.

> Connect your WAP directly to your router
>Open your Internet Explorer and type http://192.168.1.245
>It will prompt you to enter username and password. No username and password is admin
>When you get to the setup page, click on Wireless Tab and change the channel to either 1, 6 or 11. These are the strongest channel. Default is 6 so you may try channel 11 or 1 then click on Save Settings at the bottom.
>Now do a power cycle for 30 seconds then try to reconnect using your laptop

If that solution doesn't work, this time you can give it a try reseting your WAP to factory settings then reconfigure. To reset it, follow the steps below

1. Using a paper clip or a pen, hold the reset button located at the back of your WAP for 30 seconds then release it.
2. Unplug the power for another 30 seconds then plug it back in. Try to reconnect to your wireless network using your laptop
3. You can use the CD that came with it to reconfigure it.

If everything else fail, I'll suggest you to get in touch with Linksys support by calling 800-3267114 if you are in US or Canada.

Best Regards!

WAP54G bricked power led blinking LAN connection shows as not connected

you did not specify where the wap is connected when you pinged it. Try this, connect the wap54g to your pc. Assign static ip 192.168.1.5 on the lan of the pc, then ping 192.168.1.245. if you can ping you should be able to access the configuration page. if the power is still blinking you can upgrade the firmware
