Hey there...

Is the washer a direct drive or belt drive unit? If it is a direct drive ( the pump bolts directly to the engine) then the pump needs to be force fed the water, either by city pressure or a transfer pump. If it is belt driven, the lower rpm's should pull water, so more detail would be needed...

The pump is the same as other late model GE washers. themobilian_1708.jpg
Small things get into the electric pump. I removed coins and shoestrings from the pump in the past. They are easy to take apart and clean up. Rarely do they fail.

Try putting the machine on mains water pressure first to get rid of any air in the system then try it from a barrell.

Pressure washer has no pressure

hi i am a pressure washer engineer, dont just jump in and get an unloader there is a few test you can do first! first of all is the machine sucking from a drum or off mains water pressure, if sucking force feed the pump with water to see if there is any leaks. and post reply on here or ring on 07973527954

Washer spins freely but clothes remain very wet

The two possibilities of which come to mind are, something in pump slowing the water outlet, belt loose or needing replacement. Sometimes an article gets over the barrell and sucked into the pump still allowing some water to pass by, but the belt needing to be replaced would prably be my first check. both need Power disconnect then cabinet panel pulled to view both the pump and belt

Water left pooled inside maytag neptune front loading washer

Possible explanation: Some water is left in the hose going up to the drainpipe b/c the pump can only pump water with water, not air... so when the last bit of water is sucked up, it 'stays' just the other side of the pump exit nozzle and keeps the drain tubefilled. This water gradually leaks thru the drain exit valve and back into the machine, sometimes siphoning standing water in the drain trap with it.

The valve is either electric solenoid or plastic/rubber clapper in a cylinder. Your call whether to fix or not depending on ease and cost. Probably a $20.00 part.

Cheers!
