No doesnt sound defective if it works, but your alternater may not be powerful enough to maintain both your battery and car needs as well as power your amp. Best idea would be to look into getting a different alternator with a higher output.

Hi, I have a uk 2000 2L Honda accord which has a battery drain that I have narrowed down to the brake light circuit but I can't work out where on this circuit the problem seems to be. I have checked that...

You have to use your meter in series with a battery cable
on Milli-Amps

You now need wiring diagrams, to continue as your doing,
& find your test points, or things to unplug, as your doing

Keep in mind--- the radio clock & computer KAM-- will draw 50 to 70 milliamps

You have to leave the doors closed--- so all modules & relays
go to sleep--- & stay that way

My car is draining battery even with ignition and light off

That means that you have a parasitic drain, that can be caused by a short or by a defective device.

First try to understand if there is a parasitic drain.

Once you exclude the drain, replace the battery, a battery with shorted cells can cause the drain.

To measure drainage remove ignition key, connect the amp meter between the battery positive wire connector and positive terminal.A couple of milliamps drainage is normal, and is caused by instruments, car stereo memory, ECU etc.
Start removing more fuses , and open the wiring at different points , trying to locate the problem.
Remove the fuses and see if you have drain by connecting a meter to read amps on battery, if you have drain with no fuse, then the problem is insulated to wiring harness before the fuse, with something shorted between the battery and the fuseblock.
Also check car stereo and car amp HU, the HU can keep a unit on when the ignition key is off, causing drainage.

Battery drain

Remove the negative battery cable, connect an amp meter in series, between lead and battery terminal, should have a reading of approx 0.05 amp (Time Clock). If higher, then there is a drain, remove the fuses one at a time and watch for a drop on the amp meter. when it does you have found the circuit giving trouble. I would expect a reading of about 8 amps if it's the defog causing the problem. You could try taking the defog switch out first to see if that's the problem.

2002 kia sedona battery keeps draining.

the battery might be getting old and shorting itself out causing it to die. but there are a few more possabilities that can cause your battery to drain from lights being left on, doors not closed proper, alternator ect

I have a medion MD98300 laptop . Last night went to power up with both battery and mains connected seemed to want to start (mains light was on, battery light came on and then immediately went off motor...

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
4. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

Replaced altenator & battery wont hold a

You either have a short or a power drain. You may have a defective mercury switch in the trunk which is leaving the light on. This would drain the battery in a few hours. Also check the switch under the hood. The easy way to check this is to unscrew the bulbs & see if that solves the problem. Good luck!

oh ---- open circuits are a headache. try take out one fuse only at night or day whenever trk will be sitting for 7 or 8 hours. once you find the circuit it is alot easier to troubleshoot each wire.
