Question about SanDisk Memory Media

1 Answer

Can't see all files loaded on 4 GB Cruz flash memory using WinExplorer(XP).

Transferred files from C: drive to H: flash memory and can only see what appears on one page of Windows XP Windows Explorer. The files are there but they do not display on the screen.

My PNY 32 GB Flash drive says 24 GB are being used, but all the files only add up to about 6 GB. How can I find those 18 GB worth of files, so I can use all the space on my drive?

Make sure nobody put hidden files on the Flash,
Copy the files off, then reformat the flash in NTFS unless you have an old computer.

FAT32 will work, the limit is 4GB for a single file and 2TB for the whole drive. If it was an SD or variation I would have kept with this for compatibility with cameras ect. NTFS for a USB has a couple features that make it slightly more reliable and faster for a situation where you have many small files.

Santa Cruz flash drive wont show up on my ps3

Because the PS3 is junk. Not that XBox is much better. All game machine use ancient machine designs. Even a WDTV or Samsung Smart (not the H series) Blu-ray player is more smartly designed. They just lack the fancy graphics rendering chips enslaved in the XBox and PS3.

I cannot move a Microsoft Word file to a SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer, getting the message that "Directory or File cannot be created"...Why? What's the solution?

There is a problem with these where putting files directly on the root folder of the drive only allows X amount of files. Open the Cruzer from My Computer and create a new folder. Try dropping the Word file into that new folder and all should be well.

Hope this helps. Look forward to hearing back from you soon!

I can't transfer file larger than 4GB on my transcend 16GB but i can transfer different files less than 4 GB if the sum does not exceed 16GB

If your device uses the FAT32 file system, 4GB (minus 1 byte) is the maximum file size supported. It's simply a limitation of the file system.

I have a pny 4gb usb 2.0 flash drive black.instructions needed.

Most USB drives are "plug n play" meaning you just plug it in to a USB 2 port and your operating system will recognize it as a drive. If you're using Windows ME/XP/Vista, just plug it into a USB 2 port and once its recognized you'll be able to send files and folders directly to it by right clicking the file or folder and moving your mouse over SEND TO and selecting the drive from the list.

My Sony USB 4 GB flash drive will not work on my XP Microsoft OS. It had been working fine for about 3 months, now when I go to open it, it asks with what program do I want to us. However, it works just fine when I put it on a computer with VISTA. Got any suggestions?

Most flash drive comes with its on date support files on it. If those had not been removed then, yes it will show some space used.

Sandisk cruzer problem

If it got formatted in NTFS, the operating system may not recognize it. The older windows OS's WinME and before ( except WinNT ) only recognize the FAT or FAT32 file system. XP and WIN2k do all. Check on that. I'm sure that FAT can't be used as it had a 2GB limit. Just be sure it's fat32...
