Un plug your answering machine and plug it back in. If this does not work, try replacing the ac adapter (power cord)

9 black dots making a square draw 4 straight lines without removing pen using all 9 dots

You have to go beyond the dots not just stay within them. For example start at the lft hand bottom dot and go up through the other 2 left hand dots ond keep going to towards the top of the page. Come down at an angle to the right and go through just one or two more dots not neccessarily under each other etc. The secret is (literally) THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX.

MyHP Pavilion laptop when it turns on the screen stays black. Power cord is fine

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

We loose our auto attendant greeting everytime we lose power.

I suggest getting a battery back up or UPS for this system. If it is a 12 volt system, it should be relatively inexpensive to get one installed. Call a security system installer or a trusted electrician to give you an estimate on a battery backup. If you have one, your system will stay active for up to 24 hours during a power failure. Your Callpilot uses volatile memory, which clears when power is not supplied. If you had a battery backup, it would never lose power and your greeting will stay on it.

Thanks for asking.

Got a flat screan monitor from my sister and connected it to my computer, it has inbuilt speakers but no sound is cuming out of them, the monitor has no volume controll and i have checked the volume...

Have you connected your audio to the monitor?
If you want to get the sound to the monitor, you have to connect it to your computer like you would connect external speakers. Look at this monitor for example. Scroll down the page an you will see the connections like this:

What you need is a cable that looks like this:

You can get it around 5$ (here and here) or at your local Radio Shack or Bestbuy.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Can't hear when the call is on speaker.

Try two things. Ensure the system has set this phone up for handfree activation.

lastly, if you can not hear a dial tone through the handfree unit then you may have a bad speaker
