Our CTO650 toaster oven dosn't toast, but the oven works fine. How do I get into it, and can this problem be fixed?

if there is a open circuit the lever will not stay down. hold the lever down check if the elements glow , most times it costs more to fix then a new one.

I too have the same KCO223 countertop toaster oven, and the toast function is not working. All other functions work fine, but the blue light won't come on in the TOAST mode setting.

Your selector switch may be broken if the oven works on selections other than toast.

Top dial is Bake/Broil knob, it goes left to right. Starts with OFF @ 9 0-clock next is 100 dgre then @12 o-clock 180 Deg. is at top center next is 250 Deg. next 350 located opposite of off. Next @ 4 o-clock is 400 Deg. Next @ 5 o-clock is 450 Deg. and finally at the bottom at the 6 o-clock position is BROIL. The Center Knob is BAKE TIMER . Starts @ off position as 0, next @ 10 o-clock is 10-mins. Next @ 12 o-clock position is 20 mins. Next @ 2 o-clock pos. is 30 mins. Next @ 3 o-clock pos. is 40 mins. Next @ 5 o-clock pos. is 50 mins. Next and finial pos. is 60 mins. The Bottom knob is TOAST @ the 9 o-clock is is 0 next @ 11 o-clock pos. is Light , Next between the 12 & 1 o-clock pos. is MEDIUM and the final pos. @ 3 o-clock is DARK. TOAST.

Toaster switch does not stay down. I have to hold the switch down to get toast. The heating element works fine as does the oven. Can we fix the switch? Or, do you know someone to whom we can send it for repair? Thanks!

You need to have where you can see break down on line, don't wait a day or so I want to go ahead and address the problem now! Thanks Jay Wes

I found that the heating element in the top front was burned off at the end. I removed the side cover and the ceramic insulator from the broken end. I then grabbed the broken end of the spring inside the glass tube and stretched it to where I could re-attach it to the connector. It now works after getting it back together.
If you attempt this repair, UNPLUG THE OVEN FIRST!
There is also a security screw at the bottom of the side cover.

same problem here, toaster works, then when I go turn on the oven ........nothing!

Never buy black & decker they don't supply parts they want you to rebuy the same junk over & over. its a shame this is what american companies have become buy japanese they last longer and make replacement parts.(I'm not unpatriotic just an informed consumer).
