Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-614+ Wireless Router

Wireless Light Not On/No Wireless

My router is not displaying the wireless on light. As such, I am not receiving wireless internet in my place of business. It is running the LAN through the ethernet cables fine.

How can I turn on the wireless feature?

    The router works, but the wifi part doesnt. the wireless light isnt on either. we use it at work, so our credit card machine goes though it and they work. the wifi worked until the credit card machines went down and needed to reset the router. could this have caused this problem?

Hello, In address window put in address 192.168.1.1 This will open up a sign in ID and Password for your router. Default is ID: admin Password may not be required. If so enter admin . This will let you into the settings. Make sure SSID broadcast in on and set WEP or WPA for security. You'll also want to change ID and password from default. Hope this helps.

A Netgear wireless router attaches multiple devices to your Internet connection, either by ethernet cable or wirelessly.
If you can't connect to the Internet, the problem can be anywhere along the chain of devices and technologies that connect your computer to the Internet.
Knowing how to troubleshoot your Netgear or other wireless router is an essential part of determining where the problem is and fixing it.

Click your "Start" button, and choose "Run."
Type "cmd" in the text box (without quotation marks), and click "OK."
A command prompt will open. Type the following: ipconfig /all. Press your "Enter" key.
A list of numbers and other networking configuration information will display.
Find your network adapter in this list of headers.
If you use your computer wirelessly in many different places, you may have to scroll through a lot of different options to find your adapter.
If you connect to the Internet using a cable, look for a header that begins with "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection."
If you connect wirelessly, look for a header that begins with "Ethernet adapter Wireless Connection."
You will usually only see an IP address displayed under one header in either category.

Record your IP address and default gateway on a piece of paper or in a text file.
If your IP address is 0.0.0.0 or begins with 169.254, unplug your Netgear router from its power source.
Unplug your cable or DSL modem as well.
Be sure to unplug both devices; turning them off with a power switch may not have the same effect.
Wait 20 seconds before plugging the modem in again.
Wait for the lights on the modem to light up.
Plug in your Netgear wireless router again.
Wait for two minutes. Use "ipconfig /all" again.
You should have a different IP address now.

Look at the lights on your Netgear wireless router.

Tips & Warnings
You can use the "ipconfig /all" command on almost any computer that connects to a network or the Internet. If "cmd" doesn't open a command prompt, you can use any method your operating system allows to open the prompt or shell. If your Netgear wireless router is not sending a wireless signal even after you've powered it off, waited 20 seconds and powered it back on, you can use an ethernet cable to attach a computer directly to the router to continue troubleshooting.

I restet my linsky wireless adapter and all i get is a flashing blue power light


The flashing blue light is absolutely normal!!! Please follow these steps to configure your computers to your wireless router
Here are the recommended steps to connect to a wireless base router 1. Check and remove power from both your router and the DSL ROUTER/CABLE ROUTER MODEM 2. Wait one complete minute until applying power to modem then wait one minute before applying power to wireless router. 3. Ensure you have green lights across both devices, specifically, the recieved and sent lights. These same lights will tend to blink rapidly when there is active data, at times this will still blink, and a DNS error will prevent you from connecting to the internet. If this is the case, call your ISP Internet service provider 4. Check your authentication Security key on your router first, then check all your wireless devices to ensure they are on the same network name, key, and channel with the same type of encryption as the router 5. Start one device at a time and check for connectivity, if your still experiencing a problem, check the settings on all your wireless adapters, device drivers, internet browser settings, firewalls and proceed. 6. still have problems, connect a rj45 cable from the router directly to your computer to at least see if your wireless settings are bad or if the router may be bad. 7. Contact your ISP to determine if your receiving singal 8. Avoid using a splitter or parital power backup for yours routers 9. Still having problems, change your wireless router only after your ISP changes their faulty modem 10.Attempt the same process when setting up your new wireless router and or modem

The Westell has several lights on the front that have various meanings

Power = When lit, this light indicates there's power to the router. It should be solid green.

Ethernet = When lit, this light indicates that the modem is communicating with your computer. This will be on only if you're using the Ethernet cable to connect the modem to your computer

Wireless = When lit, this light indicates that the wireless function of the Actiontec is working. This will only be lit if you're using the wireless function.

DSL = When lit, this light indicates the modem is speaking to the central office (phone company). When working, the light should be solid green.

Internet = When blinking, this light indicates that you're receiving information i.e., you're able to browse from site to site. This light will be blinking as you're receiving information.

My dlink is set up and it shows on my wireless network but when i connect there is no internet comng through it just goes to a can not display this screen at this time page


Check the WAN light on the router -- if it is not lit, then your router is not connected correctly to your cable-modem or DSL-modem.

Start Internet Explorer, and access the web-server "built-in" to the router. Access the "settings" page, and check the "WAN" settings, to ensure that the router has received an IP-address from your Internet Service Provider.

My wylan light dont light up


does the router work? put tape over all the lights so you arent annoyed by one light out on an older router.

check to insure a solid connection for all cables on the back of the router and each device connected to the router.

Router won't broadcast


Use your computer's web-browser to connect to the web-server "inside" the router.
Check the 'WAN' settings -- they seem to be OK, since you have Internet access.
Check the 'Wireless' settings, or just rerun the Wireless Configuration Wizard, to rebuild your wireless network.

The only light on my router is the router light. No other lights are coming on. I have tried rebooting.


When facing the router, Globe/Internet LED is on the right. Below are the LED indicators; Check the steps below:

Wireless Security - This light will only turn on if the wireless security is enabled.

Wireless-Computer Status - This light will turn on if a wireless computer is connected to the router.

Wired-computer Status - This light will turn on if a wired computer is connected to the router. Connect the wired computer to any gray port on the router. (There are 4 gray ports).

Router Status - Power light. Solid blue means the router is on and ready.

Modem Status - If this is off, it means the router is not connected to the modem. Make sure the cable is connected from the modem to the yellow port on the router.

Internet Status - This light will indicate if the router is connected to the internet.

If this is the first time you are installing the router, then what is important is to get the router, wired-computer and modem lights ON. Once they are on, you may insert the CD that came with the Belkin router to setup the internet connection and wireless settings.

My laptop finds wireless router but will not connect to internet


Hi there. You may need to connect to the wireless network manually. What is the operating system running on your computer? If XP, you may follow these. (This is also applicable in other operating system, it may just vary a little) Right click the monitor icon showing on the system tray near the clock. Point the mouse in the icon and it will display the name if it is wireless network connection or network connection. Right click the icon and look for view available wireless network. If it is not showing, look for network connection. Right click and select "open network connection". Right click wireless network connection and select "view available wireless network" . Look for the wireless network you're trying to access or have connection.Highlight and click connect. If encrypted, you need to supply the pass key or security key twice and hit connect. It should allow you now to go online wirelessly. Please remember these, you should be able to go online wired. Make sure that there are other wireless computer connected to the wireless network you're connecting with and can go online wirelessly.
