Question about Computers & Internet
The system and transmit lights are off. but the transmit lights blink occasionally. I have also tried to enter the modem's home page via 192.168.0.1 but can no longer do but used to be the way i enter it before. what do i do?
Couple of things to try:
1) Disconnect the WAN connection and turn off the modem. Connect your crossover cable to your computer directly, if your system is receiving an IP address from the modem then you know the device's internal structure is intact. Try to bring the administration window now, if you can get in try to reset the device from the administration calls. This will mean you will have to input the settings again but hopefully should work.
2) As with the previous instructions but download a copy of the firmware for the device from the manufacturers website (obviously from another internet connection) and use the facility to run the update. This will set the modem back to manufacturers specs again and hopefully get back to cruising the net again.
3) If the previous 2 methods didn't work then time to get a new modem!
Best of Luck,
