Is this the first disc you've tried? Also, what type of disc (regular CD, MP3 or WMA CD, mixed file-format CD, or something else)?

Try pressing the little reset button right beside the 'eject' button on the changer case hopefully that helps

On my Husqvarna Viking sewing & embroidery machine...when I put in a floppy disc I get the error message: General disc error. What is wrong?

It can't read your disc, it may be damaged or needs to be cleaned. It could also be the wrong disc for the machine. The machine can't recognize it.

Getting an error message - bad disc all the time. Have tried cleaning disc, and different disc - even getting the message when no disc in machine.

There is a sensor in every DVD player that checks the disc for flaws. I suspect that that sensor is somehow dirty. Open the case up and clean the sensor. It will/should be self evident. It looks a lot like a LED.

WRONG DISC ERROR MESSAGE.

Inside the machine the laser will sometimes adjust itself to a position just out of reach of the disc and you will get a "default message", so it doesn't necessarily mean you have the "wrong disc". This can be adjusted by yourself or take it in to be done. This is only, of course that you have covered the basics and cleaned the discs and inside machine. Just blow in it even, they do attract dust as dvd's are like a magnet to dust.
