I have recently aquired my Lumix TZ7. I took a few photos and then put the SD card into my card reader to download onto my computer. A process I have done countless times with previous SD cards with no problems, but it did not work. I thought maybe my photos had been put into the built-in memory. Although this does not seem to be the case' as they were not in there when I checked. Refering to the instruction book page 98 I found the procedure to copy from built-in memory to the SD card. However having followed the procedure carefully I could not bring up the menu as shown, so I could not use the copy procedure anyway! 1. How do I get the menu up for copying? 2. Why did my card reader not work?

Ref. problem useing card reader. I solved this by buying a new card reader to cope with SDHC cards. My original one would only read SD cards!

I am still unable to bring up the menu ( ref. page 98 in the istruction book ) for copying images from my built in memory to the SD card, should I ever need to do so. Has anyone else had this problem or am I over looking something glaringly obvious in the procedure!!

I have solved my original problem. I was trying to use an SD card reader and realised I needed an SDHC card reader to cope with my SDHC memory cards. However I've found that my SDHC card reader will not download the HD video clips from the memory card! Is it possible to buy one that does?

When you say it did not work with the card reader, are you saying nothing appeared on your computer? No icon on your desktop, no Windows box offering ways to open your pics, and finally, did you open "my computer" to see if they appeared as a "removable disc"?

To download a video using your card reader, first create a folder on your desktop. Then plug in your card and card reader...drag and drop the video to the folder. Double-click on the folder and Windows should offer to open the video for you. if it doesn't , download Quicktime free from Apple...It plays Panasonic HD videos very well.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I want to transfer photos from my imac (usb) to an sd card reader digital photo frame ...help ?

You need an SD Card, an SD Card reader and a photo frame with an SD card slot. Put the SD card into the SD card reader and plug that into your imac, transfer your photos to the card and then remove the card and put it in the photo frame

My tz7 won't connect to my mac to upload photos but it works on a pc. No idea what's wrong as it's worked fine in the past. Any ideas?

I'd suggest a card reader. They are cheap, plug in the USB port and then the card shows up like an external drive.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 cant upload photos!!

Did your friend use the "safely remove hardware" function when removing your card from her computer? That could corrupt your card if she didn't. Try this...take your card to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk. They can usually read everything on a card. There, you can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Afterwards, format your card in your camera.

I have the TZ7,how do i download my movie pictures

Try this. Purchase a card reader for your card. Create a folder on your desktop. Insert your card into the reader and plug it in. Now, you can download straight to the folder.

you may try some card recovery software, recommended asoftech photo recovery that helped me before.

If needed, you may do a quick format of the card, and then use asoftech photo recovery to recover files.

Memory card error

Did you format the card before using it on your camera? Try using a memory card reader instead of the printer's SD card slot to transfer the video. Also check if the memory card is locked (check the position of the yellow slider at the right side of the card). If this does not work, then you will have to format the card. Unfortunately this will erase all the data in your card.
