Question about Tappan Ovens
My tappan gas oven (Model # 30-4942-0005) doesn't want to ignite. The igniter glows brightly, but won't ignite the burner, although we can smell gas. We tapped the burner and what I'm guessing is the control valve, and then it lit up. The first couple of times we did this, it stayed on. The next time it took a few taps before igniting, but when we put the burner cover back on, it went out. Any ideas?
Yes the igniter is not calling for enough amps to open the control valve, the igniter needs to be repalced.
