uninstall and reinstall the printer software/drivers and try again.
But before you proceed for uninstall, go to control panel, open the printer icon and delete all the printer icons previously installed, and restart your system.
Also, after uninstalling, restart your system also before you reinstall the drivers/software.
Remove and fix back the printer port and allow your computer request for the drivers before you install.
Try this and lets see if it will make any difference.
