Question about KitchenAid KESC307 Electric Kitchen Range

Kitchenaid electric stove - knob doesn't want to turn and gives off almost like a spark/pop. Also flips the breaker. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Sounds if the wires that connect to the knob is touching some metal, turn off the breaker, and remove the panel, you will find that something is touching, and it will have a burnt spot where it is touching. It may be two wires or the connector, touching, this is what is tripping the breaker, or the control knob itself may be bad and need replacing.

Kitchenaid stove code f68

This stove should absolutely still be under warranty. I would start with calling the KA customer service. They are pretty good and will usually do all they can to help you. The number for them is:

My oven wont turn off from the knob it keeps turning

You didn't say whether you have a gas or electric oven, or oven & stove. I'll assume you have a stove, just to cover all bases.

First, you should shut down the oven: a gas stove will have a valve on the gas line behind the stove. The valve will either have a red handle or a flat stem that usually has a hole in it. Turn either valve 1/4 turn to shut off gas, use a wrench on the flat stem. An electric stove should be shut off by flipping off the double circuit breaker for it in your electric panel. Do not unplug an electric stove when it is on; this can damage the plug &/or electrocute you.

Most likely the inside of the knob has stripped out. Look at the knob for a hole that has a setscrew in it: a small allen wrench or screwdriver will loosen the setscrew, most knobs don't have them and will pull off. Be careful to use even pressure on two sides of the knob; if you can't pull it off, use two butter knives or flat screw drivers to pry it up enough to get a grip on it.

Look at the center stem on the back of the knob, it will likely be cracked or stripped. Some stems have a D-shaped metal insert that strips out inside the plastic stem. If you have one, pull off a burner knob and compare the stems in the back, if they are the same size, put the burner knob on the shaft for the oven control, and use that knob to turn the oven control off.

If the burner knob won't fit, use your fingers or a pair of pliers (gently) to turn off the oven control shaft. If the shaft stops normally, you can turn the stove back on using either the gas valve or the circuit breaker. If you have a gas stove that doesn't have electric ignition (a clicking noise when you turn on a burner) you may need to re-light the pilots for the burners. Lift the covers off the burners to re-light the pilots.

If you have succeeded in turning off the oven, you need a new knob -- you can get one at an appliance parts store or maybe a hardware store. If the oven control did not turn off normally, I would leave the oven/stove turned off: the control itself will need to be replaced by a qualified repair person.

All power was lost after spark from oven light.

It sounds like it has thrown the breaker on your distribution board or a fuse if there is one. Remove the oven lamp and replace fuse or reset breaker. Don't forget to switch off the main switch before you remove/replace the lamp.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

Hello Experts, I NEED some advice to remove the control panel on my Kitchenaid electric range (model KESA907PSS00). I can't seem to get the darn thing off. It's loose @ bottom but will NOT release...

I have owned many mediocre appliances but the KESA907PSS00 is the worst of the lot. The burners turn on if you bump them - a contractor bumped it without knowing and left, a pot with chicken was reduced to charcoal and house filled with smoke when we returned. And burners don't turn on, have replaced three burner controls so far. The front door tempered glass exploded while we were gone one day with oven off. Now the oven will not turn off, have to flip the breaker to shut it down. Though I know it is a Whirlpool at heart, it is my last Kitchen Aid appliance. I will be looking at control panel to replace membrane switch so if you have not solved your problem yet, please advise, might figure it out. Called Kitchen Aid, waste of time. Another Retired Cop

The circuit breaker for out kitchenaid glass

Water probably did get into the switch(es). The best bet for a fast fix is to pull the knobs off and use an air can (like for blowing dust out electronics) to blow down into the holes. This will dry out any water in there and should allow you to use it again. To be extra sure, blow out the switches and leave the knobs off over night. In the morning the knobs can be replaced and the cook top should be good to use. Hope this helps!
