Hello these are my previous comments.... My acer dx 900 pda wifi indicator does not shut off, and as a result i think thats one of the reason the battery dies so fast. when the wifi button is selected in comm mngt it does not respond, so in a nut shell no wifi, battery dies fast, phone reset all data settings if it shuts off or restart. what can be done do i need a upgrade to wm 6.5, if so how is it done step by step Comments: Feb 01, 2010 - i cant seem to get these patches open i am using a mac, or do i have to download the patch on a pc? Get a patch from here for your set. also check here for more instructions. Regards Feb 01, 2010 - Did you navigate to where there are 3 patches? I would recomend you only download and install the one for battery life only if your phone otherwise works well. I am otherwise moving out of office. its now 6:00pm here. so untill tomorow 8:am BUT MY REAL PROBLEM I NEED THE WIFI TO WORK

Hello i think i mess up my tempo dx 900 see the info bellow... I tried the 28011 eng dwn load which was successful until i
restart my device ..... it is stock on the goldfish screen...any way to
reverse the fix that or reverse the process?

here are the newest versions of the OS for Glofiish V900 and X900. In
most cases V900 users should install the app "MobileTV" after
installing the actual OS version, because this app isn't integrated in
the ROM. So you can decide by yourself if you want to install the app
on the device or on the SD-Card.

    1. Rename the "V900X900_WM65_xyz_temp.dat" to "temp. bin".

    2. Copy the "temp.bin" to the root of an empty fat16-formatted SD-Card (1 or 2 GB).

    3. Insert this SD-Card into your device.

    4. Remove the phone SIM-Card.

    5. Press the buttons POWER and VOICE simultaneous and hold them.

Press short time the RESET button while still holding the other
buttons. After releasing the RESET button and further holding the both
other buttons there will appear after a few seconds on black screen the

    USBDL_V900_04LB_01_16 (LP)

    File= TEMP BIN

After this point the Installation begins and needs some minutes.

    6. After the message

    Waiting a download

remove the SD-Card and make a hard reset by pressing the POWER and RESET simultaneous.

Here is the newest OS version:

    28011 English V1.0:

    28011 German V2.1:

Here is the app "mobileTV" for V900 users only (newest version):

    Dear friends,

for further requests of later OS versions, I need three things:

    1. a link to the temp.dat file of the requested version. It must be the temp.dat of the V900 / X900, no matter the language.

    2. a link to the package of the requested language version belonging to the requested OS version (WWE = 0409).

    3. a link to the german language package (GER = 0407) belonging to the requested OS version.

I can't download from chinese websites and I can't download from Rapidshare, Mediafire.

Downloads from:,,, and are possible for me.

Without german language package, I will not make further versions.

    Focussing on wifi probplem,
I assume you have previously done a soft reset now try out a "Cold boot"

please follow the procedure on This pdf manual page 272 on how to do a cold boot.
Before you perform the cold boot operation, please first backup your important data can back up in many ways including using the backup utility provided within your phone or using any windows smartphone sync manager. please read about back up on the same document.

    If after this, the problem still persists, please inform me again so that I give you the procedure on how to do OS (ROM) upgrade. check which version you have and inform me; this is how you will check;
system tab,tap About> in version tab, make note of the information in
processor. Take note of the ROM version. please note that From Acer website, the latest version available is A147.040.0553.

    Kind regards

    From Acer website, we
    are going to download
this english Rom version A147.040.0553. its about 83mb.
We shall also use windows mobile sync manager from HERE and a good internet connection.
Install the sync manager and follow instructions on the sync manger site on how to upgrade your devices firmware.
And again, just like yesterday, I have to move out of office its 6:pm. please keep this thread open to me untill I fix your problem.

  • Muzahura Frank Feb 02, 2010

Also go HERE for other details.

  • Muzahura Frank Feb 03, 2010

Hi, did you manage to upload the updated ROM version?
It seem we have time differences but please leave whatever comment you can so that i respond to it when I'am on line.

  • Muzahura Frank Feb 04, 2010

windows mobile version 6.5 is available HERE. Acer would probably be the right download place but the version you just installed is the highest for your phone available from them. however check on the above link.

Also, as you indicated above that after some couple of resets your wifi works and later goes back, that indicates a failing wifi hardware. normally, a simple hardware service, fixes the problem. so i would recommend opening the phone, service the motherboard components using hot air blower over the ic's at moderate temperature.

My wifi connection is good, but why is the wifi signal by the power button orange now previously it was blue? is this somthing i can manually fix? help

Orange indication means that the wifi is off or disabled. This will occur if:

1. You manually disable the wifi driver
2. You disable the wifi using the keyboard function key
3. You plug the PC into a wired network connection.

Check the keyboard hotkey for wifi and cycle it to see if for some reason the wifi was accidentally disconnected. If that is not the case, check the device manager to see of the wireless network driver is installed and working properly.

Acer n300 wont sync

you also have a connection manager on the PDA Itself ( Active sync ) Try syncing from the PDA as Well As The Computer Active Sync Program.
Also make sure if you have a firewall, you allow the PDA into it as a trusted Device.
Mike @ Compurepair.
1 more thing, try on/off the PDA whilst in sync mode.
Hope This Helps.

Acer 3003LCi - Wireless Connection

It seems the two oval lights on the front of the Acer TravelMate 3003LCi are not only lights to indicate WiFi traffic, but also buttons to turn the WiFi radio on and off for security reasons. If you press and hold the left side button for 3-5 seconds it should turn back on the WiFi radio. Windows XP (and maybe other OS’s) have a power saving function that turns the radio off when not in use to save the battery, so you have to use the buttons to turn the radio back on. Seems like a pain in the @$$ to me, but it’s a clients laptop not mine so he will have to live with that.

I hope this helps someone so they do not have to go through the frustration of trying to figure out why the radio has been turned off.

Wi-fi PDA connectivity problem

First, restart your pda by using your stylus and pressing the pin-hole sized button on the back of the PDA. There are sometimes a couple of different reasons why the pda wont recognize the network. Main Reason: Make sure you are at the home screen... Tap the wifi icon on the lower right corner of the pda. T hen make sure that the WLAN power is turned ON. Press the setting button. If you see your network in the list, tap on it. It should bring up a network configuration window. Make sure it says it connect to "The Internet". Then tap on the "Network Key" tab at the bottom of window. If you have no security settings on your belkin router, make sure Authentication is set to Open and Data Encryption is set to "Disabled". Then press "OK". That should Be it!!!! Let me know if this way doesnt work, or if something doesnt make sence!
