Looks like lamp needs replacement. tried 2 new ones and still problem

My unit is about 4 years old and never had the lamp problems b4. one month ago the lamp light came on and i replaced it. it worked for a month and then same thing happened. no power red flashing light and lamp light blinks. I replaced that lamp with a new one (not just the bulb but the whole housing. Same thing. What else could this be? i have heard ballist kit repair as one possibility. How much would estimate repairs to be.

Do you hear a click when you hit the power-on? Try unplugging for a couple of hours. This will force a reset. If there is no click or anything, you have a power supply problem where there is no standby at all. You can check the main fuse, but that is rarely the problem. I would suspect the standby supply at this point.

The Ballast repair kit is the best one.You can check THIS link out for more info.

Further if you call a technician it will cost you anything between $300-$400.

Goodluck..

Bought my hitachi 50vs69a tv 3 years ago. put new bulb in six months ago after original shattered. New bulb is not working now. TV comes on and stays on a few seconds then power, lamp and temp light start...

Take the lamp out and examine it. Are there any blackened markes that look like arcing marks? If there are then the lamp may be faulty and that could be caused by the ballast but in my experience of working with Sany and Philips lamps, the ballast units generally fail without causing lamp problems.
I should go for a new lamp.
Hope that helps.

Newer lamp not workering

I don't think that resetting the lamp is the problem if you have had it in there for a few months already. This lamp is rated for 2000 hours. That is abaout 1 year if you use it about 5 or 6 hours a day. If you don't use it that much you should get close to 2 years. There are a variety of factors that will reduce the life of your lamp. Do you let the fan continue to run after the projector is turned off? If not, you will see about half of the regular life. Are the filters clean? You can use a vacuum or rinse out foam filters to clean out the dirt and dust. The lamp needs good air circulation to cool evenly. Are the vents blocked or close to another componant? I'm pretty sure that you just need another lamp. If the lamp was purchased more then 4 months ago, you are probably out of warranty. You can save yourself some money if you buy the bare bulb and replace it in the old cartridge. It looks like the complete lamp module from Sharp runs around 295.00 but the usually have a bare bulb available. We supply a variety of brands fior each projector. You can contact me at 866-470-9877 or go to allprojectorlamps.com. Good luck!

Optoma hd72 lamp driver problem

I have had this manufacturer defective HD72 unit for 4 years now. So let me break down this issue as I have experienced it for 3 years.

1. The issue is with the lamp driver(bulb power supply), replacing it will fix the issue, but the new lamp driver you install is also defective and will eventually go out.
2. Replacing the bulb will place less stress on the lamp driver and will temporarily fix the issue as well (this is what I did first because the warranty department, when I was under warranty told me this was the issue but the bulb was not under warranty at the time).
3. I have my unit mounted on the ceiling, upside down. For some reason, turning it right side up extended the life of the lamp driver by 8 months. I have no idea why gravity makes a difference, but it does, try it, it is the quickest/cheapest/easiest thing to try. I read on a web site that it would work, and I thought it was stupid, but it actually did work.

The real problem is that this is a manufacturer defective projector which they do not have non-defective parts to sell you even though they have known about this issue for at least 4 years now, they have moved on and want you to buy a new unit that is not defective instead of fixing this one.

PT-45LC12 Problem after startup

When the lamp flashes 4 times this is what the error code means IC 2301 pin 11 has detected an LCD error which is caused by an error in the LCD power CBA. which means the lamp voltage has become more than 130 volts or less than 30 volts. Or the lamp current is more than 5 amps, or the lamp is cracked. Its one of thos 3 reasons that will make the lamp indicator blink 4 times. Hope this helps. If you need the service manual for this model you can get one emailed to you from the following link.

Locate a servicer who has all parts possible on board his truck.

Ask what a diagnostic service call/repair would cost.
