Question about HP Mini 1000 Netbook

My HP mini netbook won't reboot.

I was turning off my netbook, but as it was shutting down, it started to install updates (which was what it usually did). Now, I know that you weren't supposed to shut the comp. off or unplug it while it was installing. However, I accidentally stepped on the laptop's cord, thus, unplugged it. Now, whenever I turn my laptop on, it's said, "BOOT MNG is compressed. Press Alt+control+del to restart." That's exactly what I did and it always showed the HP sign with "F9 to change BIOS...", "F10 to..."  I pressed F10 and ran a diagnostic, nothing seemed to be diagnosed as defected. But then my laptop won't start up either. It will either stay as "BOOT MNG is compressed..." or "Press F10..." or "Press F9" What shall I do now? Thank you.

Connect an external USB CD/DVD drive.
Put in a Windows operating system CD or DVD. I'm not sure it matters which one in this case.
Boot up the computer using the CD.
When the first set of choices come up, type in "R" to get the Recovery Console.

When the Recovery console comes up, type:
fixboot

Then remove the CD and reboot.

Remove main battery and try again, if no! have the power adapter checked for correct voltage, if okay! the DC jack in the laptop is a common source of trouble, at this point it must be dismantled down to the mother board level and checked, I recommend a pro to address the situation.

My hp mini won't shut down or show the task manager

You will have to figure out what the lockup is as well. That could be a program or windows or even a overheating issue as the cause. Or it can be one of those things that it just does to irritate the heck out of you and you never can figure it out ;-]

The first step is you need to shut it down. You can push and hold the power button down. If it is just a software thing this usually is enough to shut it down. The next thing to do is to take out the battery. The battery will cause windows to complain a little that it wasn't shut down properly and will want to check things on reboot. Let it do that. Once you can shut it down then you can start trying to watch for symptoms when you reboot. You can check for warm spots on the chassis or maybe a program you were running or started or in quite a few cases nothing at all.

When I try to turn my netbook on, it freezes at the first screen where it has the HP logo in the center. And it says "F9 change reboot order. Or F10. Something else. I don't remember the F10 part....

You are trying to boot from a non bootable device. Start up your netbook and change the boot order to Hard Drive or Drice C, then re boot. F10 will store the settings.
Hope that helps

Need for speed 3 hot pursuit is a low graphic game but it is not working properly on my hp mini 210-1085Tu netbook.......plz suggest some solution for my problem.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, Netbooks computers are not made for games. You are lucky if you are able to make it work.

The only solution you may have, is to check for driver updates at the HP website and update the VIDEO driver.

The HP Mini 1000 Netbook usually do have an Intel graphics chip, check the game specifications is it works with Intel Chips.

Good luck.

New HP Mini w/ Windows XP ''Remote Procedure Call'' Shuts down

Hello.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but in my opinion, if you are experiencing system problems after a couple of days, I'd advise you to return the mini for a new one. If the supplier doesn't have a 30-day return policy, then contact HP.

Hope this helps.

Hp mini wont start

i had a similar problem. this made my netbook start again. turn off your netbook and then remove the battery. then (with the battery still out) slide the power switch into the on-position and hold it there for a minute. then reinsert the battery and turn on your netbook. as soon as it turns on, keep repeatedly pressing the F10 key till you see your screen light up. then login normally and go to the hp site and download the driver for your netbook. i think its under BIOS? hope this helped. sorry if it didnt...
