    Our cable went out due to weather and when we turned the tv back on it wouldn't come one. There was a red light on in the front that says TIMER under it. So we left it and finally it came on; however, the sound came on and then in a few minutes the picture appeared. Now everytime it is turned off and turned on again that timer light comes on and delays coming on for approx 30 minutes to an hour. When it finally comes on now, we can hear the channels clearly, but cannot see the picture. Any suggestions?? If so, please send to cathijones@charter.net. Thanks

OK first thing.. its not the fuses. if the green light flashes this is an idication that the processor is receiving power, This is a shutdown unit,, If the set has any problems .. i think thers about 25 different reason the set will shut down. for safety Technicians have special computer equipment to read errors from the processor. COmmon sollutions include first shut set down and uplug for about 30 min then try again..( i dont think i have ever seen this work) THis is where the troubleshooting begins. Problems on this unit start with shorted horizontal transistors. that the first thing techs check.

What do the letters "DEW" mean on the screen. TV/VCR combo model GOJ 12330

DEW means that there is condensation inside the unit. Turn it off and unplug it for a few hours. The unit needs to reach equilibrium with the temperature and humidity with the room. The TV is cooler than the room and the moisture will continue to be a problem until the components of the TV reach room temperature.

If you fail to allow the TV to reach equilibrium, some components may become damaged by the moisture. If that has happened, resolving the error may take major repairs. Electronics do not like moisture.

I hope this helps.

Sony Bravia KDL-55EX500 flashing green and yellow light, an won't turn on. Any suggestions?

you guys are going to love me. lol. i figured it out at least for mine. $ )
1.start by unplugging the tv and everything plugged into it(make sure the only thing plugged into the tv is the power cord).
2. next plug in the usb flash drive with the update or a compatible version of the firmware.

3. now while holding down the up arrow button on the tv remote, plug in the tv and keep holding the up arrow while pressing and holding the power button on the side on the tv until you see the light on the tv go from solid green to solid red and yellow flashing lights. once you see this just sit back and wait a few min for it to force the update and it should turn on when its done.

let me know if this works for you as well or if you need any clarification. also know that step three is a pain to do alone and must be all done within a short period of time preferably at the same time.

Hauier dehumidifier HDN305 suddenly won't turn on. No motor goes on and no red or green lights go on either. It's properly plugged in to a functioning electrical outlet which has a functioning...

You have already checked everything I would have suggested, so the only other thing I can think of is the temperature in the room, may be affecting it. If the ambient room temperature is above 112 degrees or below 32 degrees, the unit will shut OFF and not restart, until the temperature is within that range.
If you continue to have problems starting the unit, contact Haier America Customer Support 877-377-3639.

Hope this provided some help to you.

Underneath the heater element are two thermostats that are run in series with each other. Inside the wire that connects them is a thermal fuse that opened up. Replacing the fuse corrected the problem.

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Red Light Flashing 6 times

A 6 blink usually indicates a bad thermal fuse caused by the lamp temperature getting too hot. I strongly suggest replacing the sirrocco fan that mounts on top of the optical block too. Usually this fan gets clogged up with dust so the lamp temperature gets hotter than it should causing the thermal fuse to open up. Replacing the thermal fuse, sirrocco fan and cleaning the dust from the inside and fans will cure this. A Sony authorized servicer should be able to repair this for you. Good Luck
