Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Hi, Can I unlock my Sony
Sony players are among the most secure players known and in common with a few other major name manufacturers many of their players are unhackable.
Your particular model cannot be hacked with respect to the Blu-Ray region (very few players from any manufacturer can be Blu-Ray hacked) but the DVD regions are hackable.
To do so, you need to buy a specially adapted remote control, such as this one to send the correct servicing override codes to the player. Note that I am not endorsing any supplier or products, the link is just an example only and there are many other suppliers. There is no other way to make the modification unless you know how to build and program your own servicing remote control. Either way, it's not something you can do without spending money one way or another.
For anyone reading this long after the link has expired, just enter "BDP-S380 region hack" into your preferred browser search box.
