Question about Alpine TMX-R705 7" Monotorized wide screen overhead monitor

Open Question

Alpine compatability - IDA-X305, TMX-R705, NVE N077P, DVE 5207 ?

Hi, I have a few Alpine items and I wanted to check that they will all work together. I have an Alpine IDA-X305 Digital Media Receiver, an Alpine TMX-R705 motorized screen, an Alpine NVE N077P Sat nav and an alpine DVE 5207 DVD player. (I also have a sony playstation 2 slim that I plan to fit to the system.) My questions is are they all compatible together, do I need an Alpine brain (which one?) and what leads do I need to connect them. Also will I be able to control things from the head unit (IDA-X305) or only from each units remote? Thanks, Tom

SOURCE: I have an Alpine IDA X300 head unit and I have

No. The newer decks do not run changers anymore. In fact no one makes changers anymore. You would have to get an older alpine head unit to run that changer.

Hi. My Alpine IDA X100 doesn't want to read the track from my flash drive. I have tried it with different flash drives like 8GB and I bought an Adata 32GB flash drive hoping for no issues but here it...

Compatibility issues can come from a couple different places when dealing with digital media. I looked up your device here for your digital specifics. I am under the assumption that you are trying to play MP3 files. Your Alpine reads ID3 tags and this could be where a lot of your issues are coming from and some could possibly come from the file name of your MP3's. Most car audio decks are not equipped to handle characters that people put in the MP3 names or ID3 tags. If you notice how the working MP3's are titled on your Alpine's display it usually reads something like "song - artist". If there are characters like "~ # ^ $" or something to that effect, your Alpine might not be able to read that. If the MP3 name is already written like "song - artist" then the problem could be in the ID3 tags and they could have unreadable characters in there which are not visible to you without a ID3 tag editor. In this case, download a free ID3 editor, trying clearing it out or modifying it to a simpler format, edit your file names as needed and try that out.

Alpine dve-5207 & tmx-r705

Hi Allan,

To my understanding, both are inter-compatible to either NTSC or PAL.; the player will auto detect what format the disc is and auto-switch over. As the manual says, "DVE-5207 automatically changes the video output signal (NTSC or PAL), according to the disc." On the other hand, the TMX-R705 needs manual settings (2 ways):
1. NTSC and PAL can be directly switched when the DISP on the TMX-R705 remote button is pressed for at least 2 seconds; or
2. On the TMX-R705 remote, press the SETUP button, press the DOWN or UP button within 10 seconds and select AUX 1 SIG. or AUX 2 SIG., press the LEFT or RIGHT button within 10 seconds to set the selection.

Just an after thought, pls verify that your DVD Region number is either 2 or ALL. Additionally, you can verify the color format the unit is using (as well as the disc) by pressing DISPLAY during playback on the player.

Should this not be corrective, perhaps you need to check the grounding/wiring and the interconnections cables.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
