Re: I don't no how to hook up my Adsl Gateway
See if maybe this will help. You didn't say what type of router(wired or wireless). Yhis should give you some idea. Hope this helps. Thanks
LinkSys Router Setup
Physical Setup of a LinkSys Router
Each model of LinkSys router will differ slightly, but the general
design is similar across all models. Therefore, the setup is similar
across all models.
Attach the antennas to the router (if your LinkSys router support wireless)d
Plug the Ethernet cable from your broadband Internet provider into the port labeled "Internet"
Plug another Ethernet cable into one of the available ports
Plug the other end of that same cable into an Ethernet port on your PC
LinkSys Router Configuration
LinkSys routers now ship with a Setup Wizard which is intended to simplfy basic configuration tasks.
We do not recommend the LinkSys Setup Wizard for two reasons:
The Setup Wizard is not significantly easier that the regular configuration menus
If you use the Setup Wizard, you will end up learning two interfaces for your LikSys router instead of just one
Instead, we recommend simply starting your web browser and jumping into the configuration.
Once your web browser is open, go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password. Logging in to a LinkSys Router
The username is either blank or "admin" and the default password is "admin".
Once you are past the login screen, you are able to access (and change) a plethora of configuration options for your router.
Don't be worried by the enormous number and variety of options, your
LinkSys router ships with default settings that enable it to work right
out of the box in most environments.
From here the configuration options that you choose are largely up to your own personal preference.
If this is a wireless router, we recommend that you consider setting an SSID to identify the router as your own and configuring WEP to encrypt your wireless traffic.

By setting it up . Do you have the instruction manual this would be a good starting point. Although you did not give a lot of information I will offer you a bit of information. This router is an ADSL router so you need to have an internet service provider that can provide ADSL on your phone line. Once you have an internet service provider give them a call and ask them to guide you in how to set up ADSL and connect this dg834G router to their network. ADSL requires ADSL line filters on all phones. While you are setting up the ADSL you might want to also setup encryption on the WI FI settings security and give it a network name. in the router.
Download the firmware from the Download tab after following the link. You should be able to find user guides and other help for your router there too. Downloading the firmware should allow you to use the router. The CD just contained that info. Link
Frequent wireless disconnection can be caused by different factors such as:
• Wireless interference within the network
• Wireless settings of the Linksys ADSL gateway are still set to default
• Firmware is corrupted NOTE: Before going through the steps in this
article, check if your wireless computers have stable connection when
connected to other wireless networks (hotspots).
To resolve intermittent wireless connection, you need to perform the following steps:
It seems that you will have to configuer the modem manually. Cöntact ur service provider and ask for the following info:
VPI AND VCI, MULTIPLEXING METHOD.
Once u have these info, follow the steps below on a wired computer connected to the router.
1. Open browser and type the address as http://192.168.0.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com.
2. Login with username as admin and password as password.
3. Click on Basic settings and enter the username and password.
Click on ADSL settings and enter the required info.
Rate it, if it helps.
Do it manually. Connect your PC to your router with an ethernet cable. Type http://10.0.0.2 into your web browser. Enter the username Admin and the password zoomadsl. Go to Basic setup, fill in your ISP username and password under PPP and click "configure my connection" then save and write to flash (at bottom of page)
Initially what I suspect is that your USR's connection to your ISP is intermittent but with that of the USB modem is consistent. This is clearly an ISP issue and should be resolved by them.
One thing you can try is to verify the integrity of the line splitter that is commonly used to split the 2-wire signal to the telephone and to the modem/router. You can actually remove the splitter and connect the telephone line straight to the WAN/ADSL input of the USR 9106 Wireless Gateway and check if their is an improvement or if your ADSL and WAN IP will light up consistently.
Alternately, if your ISP is too busy to attend to your concern, you can try mimicking the USR's WAN settings to that of the USB modem's. While still using the USB (provided by your ISP) determine its WAN IP settings. This would be IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS. You need to access the USB modem to get this data. Should you need detailed instructions, pls post back the make/model of the ISP provided USB modem. If you were able to gather the information. Connect your USR 9106 Wireless Gateway (Ethernet 1~4) to your PC using a LAN cable and enter its configuration page. In its WAN/ADSL settings, use the numbers gathered from the USB modem. You may need to do a full hard reset on the router (rear panel) prior to putting in the numbers.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. If problem persists, pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.
