Question about Canon MX700 Office All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

After a good & solid year, my canon mx700 is suddenly giving me very light prints & copies. Could this be a printer-head issue from the machine being placed on a not-so-solid surface? Only guessing.

Nope, I tried your sollution (I'm on a Mac btw) but no joy.
Changed settings on the machine, tried various cleaning, head alignment options, but still nothing.
I do think it's a hardware problem, probably a pretty mundane tune-up is required, but I'd like to be sure.
    Any other thoughts?

Hello,

have you checked the turner and when last did you replace the turner?

The ink in the turner must have reduced to minimum, and maybe that's why its giving light prints.

Try this and let's see the result.

Take care.

Issue: Printed image is light
Solution: Set the Ink Intensity (Windows) MX700

Set the Ink Intensity (Windows) The Intensity setting controls the amount of ink placed on the paper. The higher the intensity the darker (more ink) the printed image will be. If the Intensity setting is set too high, the printed page may become too wet and curl or streak. The coloring can be adjusted manually for all items, or automatically using ICM (Windows color correcting function). Follow the instructions below to adjust the ink intensity settings. This worked for me:
Unplug (not just turn off) the printer. Wait at least 20 seconds, then plug it back in. Hold the Feed Switch down, then turn on the printer (continue to hold the Feed Switch down). When the printer finishes cycling the paper feed, release the Feed Switch. Copy anything and it should print. You're good to go.

The printer head has locked itself and won't move.
I have found a solution for you on the Internet - here are the details :-

I was able to unlock the print head - just with a small piece of foil.
Cut a 3-5cm wide stripe from a sheet of overhead-foil (90um thickness), move it below the print head, and move it to the front and upwards, to the back and upwards. Remove the foil. After switching the printer on - it will work as before and be able to move the head. No need to disassemble the whole MX700!

Canon pixma mx700 has error 6000?

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage.
Now Remove the ink cartridges from the printer head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

Double images, error 5100 when printing, copying

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.

Canon MX700 multi-function printer error 5100, double-lines

You can Try
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

U052 prnt head is incorrect install the correct print head...it is the correct head head made by Canon how can I get rid of this message and resume printing..

You can check that it's installed properly, after that all you can do is replace the printhead. They are like a light bulb and burn out when you least expect it. If you printer is less than a year old Canon will replace the printhead, after a year you have to buy a new one. Anywhere from $60.00 to $100.00 The part number is on the side of the printhead, the number starts with QY6, the numbers after that are the actual part number.

Canon MX700 with new cyan cartridge very faint

The print head needs a chemical solution. You have to soak it to chemical solution to unclog it. It should be a chemical solution that is really use for print head. If it does not work, the worse thing to do is to buy a new print head.
