Convert a Behringer BCF2000 to run on batteries?

I need to convert a Behringer BCF2000 to run from a battery pack so it can be mobile when attached to a laptop. What voltage/amperage does it eat internally?

The basic unit requires 10 watts at line voltage. Modifying the unit internally would be a disaster. You are better off using an invertor to drive it.

The internal supply will be a switching type and probably generate +/- 15 volts and +5 volts.

I have a casio WK1300 with only a 2 pin plug. I want to put a 3 pin plug with an earth & fuse. what ampage fuse should I use in the plug, 3,5, or 13amp?

This device operates internally at 12VDC. It can run on D-Cell batteries. It uses a transformer-based power pack to convert A/C to DC for the unit. What possible benefit do you see in converting this (if you even could) to a 3-wire grounded system? There most likely is already a fuse incorporated into the PCB internal to the power pack. You cannot wire A/C directly to the device as it is not internally capable of using the voltage. Any ground that you placed on the device would only be effective to the power pack and would not continue on to the device itself. It seems like a waster of time and effort.

Eurolight LC2412 will not store presets into memory

Not sure but it may have an internal battery. I would look into that first. I've had bad luck with behringer equipment myself and can't seem to get parts for any of it.

Behringer: EUROLIGHT LC2412 battery replacement

You need a CR2032 battery - get it from JayCar, RadioShack, whatever electronics store you have.
You have to turn the unit upside-down and take out all 11 screws from the bottom, and the two on the sides near the front. Then just lift the bottom panel from the rest of the unit. The battery is very obvious.
Behringer warn you NOT to do this and claim you could suffer an electric shock. I say, just don't touch anything you don't need to and you'll be fine. You might need to remove the rack-mounts from the sides of the unit if you have those.

Hi -- my fairly new behringer dr600 reverb box is cutting in and out (in time to its reverb setting) after about an hour of playing. i'm using 2-hour-old batteries! it's pretty psychedelic... but...

Batteries are probably drained... expect maybe four hours on Duracell and Energizer, two hours on Radio Shack batteries. These pedals chew up batteries fast so best to get an adapter... and make sure it is the right one for the pedal.

My pedal is brand new and cuts out after about ten minutes. I also bought the delay pedal and it cuts out around the same time while making a rapid pulsing sound.

This sounds like you MIGHT be running on batteries and they are near depleted... Pedals go through batteries pretty fast. Use power adapters and make SURE to use the right ones as some pedals require different voltages and types of current.

Check if the connection of the input cable MIGHT be intermittent. The sleeve of the connector enables the battery when the cable is inserted. If the cable is moved in the least and the sleeve makes intermitent contact that would cause your problem... a lesser probability is a loose battery contact.

My Behringer fx600 multi effects pedal flashes rapidly when used with a power adaptor. this happens whether the pedal is turned on or not.

The LED is ALSO used as a battery condition indicator... this is probably indicating the battery is expired. The manual sure doesn't say much!

David,   I dont like to be the bearer of bad news, but Behringer dissolved its service/repair center years ago.  In my opinion, this indicates little faith in the profitability of servicing Behringer products.  If the manufacturer wont even repair their own products, I wouldn't buy or use that brand if I had a choice.  Their products are good, WHEN THEY WORK.  They keep their prices low by using inexpensive, disposable quality components.  Most of their products aren't worth repairing.      Here are a few options to find your power supply.  Try Rogue music in New York, NY.  Here is the web address.

Here is another resource.  DBM pro Audio is an authorized Behringer Repair Center.  They are also in New York.  They will be able to tell you if your part is available from Behringer.  I'm very sorry to inform you of the inferiority of Behringer products.  I think the truth, though it hurts sometimes, is the best teacher.  P.S. if you ever visit DBM... next to the elevator, outside DBM's office is a one yard dumpster, it is always brimming with the carcasses of unrepairable Behringer mixing consoles.      Remember, when buying electronics, you get what you pay price = cheap components (and usually headaches down the line) Good luck!  I wish you success on finding your power supply.  Michael Mittelsdorf

See my profile for my qualifications. DBM does all my electronics repair.
