Hi I just wanted to tell you, that it was recommended to take out the front filter , it is under the drum at the front of the machine, we cleaned it and put it back , and it is back to working normal, my husband found this advice, that said to do this and it works, Thanks K

My GE GFWS3505LMS font end load washing machine pauses. Have to press start for it to continue. typically happens at 57min. once I press start again it works fine.


try unplugging the unit for a minute to see if it resets it to factory setting.
if not working after that I think but it's hard to diagnose over the internet...it'll be #3 on this site.

Its stops when it reaches in 39 minute the function set on cottons what is the problem


Try resetting the mainboard by removing the wall plug overnight. May also be a faulty lid switch if it is a top loader.

    if it makes a grinding sound when in spin this is the tub seals or bearing and basically you'll have to replace the washer.very common with this ge washer,not one of ge's best product,also why it stops mid cycle could be anything,this washer has a computer board biult on top of the motor that also failed,if your having all these issues i think that washer sold for like 500 dollars,it would cost more just to repair it,i wouldn't put 5 cents into it,do yourself a favor and get a new washer.

    Washer is most likely trying to fill with cold rinse water and the inlet screen is blocked or the cold water solenoid is bad. If you set washer to wash cold only it will not fill or fill very slowly. When you set it to warm or hot you are getting almost all hot. Clean inlet screen or replace inlet water valve.

    CHECK THE SENSOR SWITCH underneath the washer where the door closes , it could be loose or damaged, hope this helps AJ
