Pro Finisher Xerox 7760 not folding paper.

I am having an issue with the pro finisher of a Xerox 7760. When I select any type of paper other than plain paper it will not go to the booklet tray and will not fold the paper despite selecting that option in the driver.

I have the newest firmware. I would like to speak to someone who has made booklets with the pro finisher for the 7760. It seems that it can only fold plain paper which I'm surprised about. Is this the case?

i am trying to look something up, but I talked to a couple people, it has to do with the number of pages and paper weight that might be causing your problem.

I will try to check for paper specifications.

    thanks adi

With booklets you are allowed to use one sheet of THIN card stock as a
cover, but every page of the booklet needs to be office paper… see below
    for other specs.

If your printer has a finisher, you can have the printer staple sets of
    up to 50 sheets of 75 g/m2

    (20 lb. Bond Paper).

If your printer has a finisher with
the booklet maker, you can have the printer saddle staple and

fold sets of up to 15 sheets to make
a booklet. It can also fold sets of up to 5 sheets without

    stapling.

Use the following guidelines when stapling paper:

    ■ To be stapled, the sheets of paper must have a width between
    203–297 mm (8–11.7 in.)

and height between 182–432 mm (7.2–17 in.).

Extra Thick Card Stock, glossy paper, transparencies, labels,
    and envelopes are not

    stapled.

    ■ To use the booklet maker, the paper size must be Letter
    (short-edge feed), US Folio, Legal,

    Printing Booklets

With 2-sided printing, you can print a document in the form of a small
    book. Create booklets

for any paper size that is supported for 2-sided (duplex) printing. The
    driver automatically

reduces each page image and prints four pages per sheet of paper (two
    on each side). The

pages are printed in the correct order so that you can fold and staple
the pages to create a booklet.

Paper handling is a strength of the Phaser
7760 printer. The paper capacity of the
Phaser 7760DN configuration is 650
sheets – 150 sheets of up to 12 x 18 in.
paper in the multipurpose tray/Tray 1, and
500 sheets of up to 11 x 17 in. paper in
Tray 2, with two options for increasing the
input capacity of the printer. Two highcapacity
feeder options add either 1,500
sheets of input capacity (comes standard
on the Phaser 7760GX) or 2,500 sheets
of input capacity (comes standard on the
Phaser 7760DX). The 400 sheet output
tray capacity is standard on all configurations,
and customers have two powerful
finishing options to choose from.
Make sure you change the printing paper
on the printer settings on the printer itself also.
User can choose paper source in print driver
based on media size, type, or tray number.

Xerox 7345 error 008-164 paper is folded with jams and 008/164

That error indicates that the paper was not sensed as passing the pob sensor which is right at the registration rollers. If the paper is folding there, the main cause is the registration clutch not being initialized or slipping. Replace registration clutch, part number: 121K22220

Need to remove the finisher from a xerox 2636

Open the front door, there is an opening to the left under the transport . You reach in that opening and there will be a plastic block about 3 or four inches in the finisher. You pull that latch toward youself and that will inlatch the finisher from the machine.
Unless it is an office finisher in which you would have to remove thumb screws under a plastic cover on front, disconnect the plugs from the finisher to the machind and then lift the finisher up off the rails .

Change belt cleaner?

You have to move or remove the finisher, depending what finisher you have.
Open the door on the right side of the machine . It is about 4 inches high and 14 inches wide.
Open the front cover and move the black bar to the down position as if you were replacing a drum.
Then on the right side, you slide the transfer unit out about 4 or so inches. On the front of that unit there are 2 torx screws held together with a black plastic strip. Remove those 2 screws, remove and replace the cleaner.

The printer is indicating that the finisher tray is full and to remove all paper. But there is no paper on the finisher tray. This is causing the printer not to print.

I wish you told the model number. But when that happens, what has happened is this.
In the finisher tray there would be a flag type actuator that sticks out into the paper path after the paper enters the tray. It has fallen off or has become stuck deactuating the sensor, ( turning it off).
Although there is no paper in the finisher tray, with that sensor flag out of position and the sensor off,it thinks there is paper there.
