Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player

Problems something about recovery mode it won't let me play my songs.and my pics as well. and that's it.

Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All)
Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware
Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.


I actually had this exact problem a little while ago with my Zen Sleek-- Booting straight to the Recovery menu, and only getting a generic "Harddisk problem" error screen any time I would try to do anything.

Shuffle not working right in play mode


You may have accesed that music file from within the albumn and not from the "all songs" menu.

Tip

FIX: only plays 10 sec of song


I've noticed alot of people are having this problem. For some reason or another the MP3 player puts intself into INTRO MODE. The player will play ten seconds of a song then move onto the next.
To fix this:
1. Play a Song
2. Press the button on the side of the player
3. Choose PLAY MODE
4. Choose NORMAL

I had this problem when I first got mine as well and I understand how frustrating it can be when you've spent hard earned money on something and things go wrong right off the bat. When it happened to me I wished there was someone out there with a clear answer as to how I could fix it. I hope I've been able to help you with your specific problem.

I would access the recovery menu on your Vision:M, and run a clean up. This won't erase anything, and this usually will fix it.
To access the recovery console on your Vision:M:
Disconnect the player from your PC, and make sure the battery is not low, if the battery is low, you're going to need to recharge it first.
Next, Slide the Power switch towards the Power icon and hold the switch in the Power On position.
Next, Push a straightened paper clip into the reset hole, press gently and remove (all while holding the switch in the Power on position). The recovery menu should now come up, again run a clean up first, as this usually resolves issues without deleting your files.

SONG ONLY PLAYS FOR 30-40 SECONDS

Most probably you accidentally switch the play mode to " INTRO" check your display if it does indicate Letter " I" in it. if does any music you play will be in "INTRO" mode. IF you still have the manual for your player check the 'PLAY MODE" setting. From this setting you can choose play mode from "FOLDER" "NORMAL" "INTRO""REPEAT 1" REPEAT ALL" to play in continuously select "NORMAL" mode.

I'm not sure if your player do have the same procedure in changing play mode . But try this , while on play mode . Press menu and a dialogue box will appear scroll and select "NORMAL"

MP3 player plays 10 seconds of a song and stops


Your MP3 Player is in the Intro Play Mode. This is just a preview mode where it'll play the beginning of a song. If you hit the menu button (but don't hold it) while the song is playing, it should bring up the music submenu. From there, go to Play Mode and select any mode except Intro. Generally though, you'll want it on Repeat All or something of the like. Random is also good if you can't figure out what to listen to.

Will Windows read it as a flash drive?
If so, find a file recovery program like undelete or something, use it to restore your files, then turn on the sansa, then select format( if it is a view) and it will delete all your songs

"refresh database failed" how do I do a database refresh?
