Hi,
The unit may have to be reset.
From power off, try holding down GOTO and NAV and tap the PWR button. In a couple of seconds you should see a box pop up with "00" inside ofit. At this point, release GOTO and NAV. Use the direction pad tochange the "00" to "32" to clear all memory, entering the necessaryinput to get past the warnings. Reinitialize and see if it makes anydifference.
However, the last thing I can think of is to try is to power on pressing Enter - Menu -Pwr at the same time. That is supposed to force a clear all memory, but beware all previous data will be wiped.
If you can't do something like the above, you'llprobably need to return it for repair. It might be worth trying afirmware reinstall or purchase another charger.
Unfortunateley there is no service center to take it to in Australia but you can however contact Megellan themselves and see if you can come to an arrangement to have the unit repaired, Especially if the GPS is still under warranty.
Click on the link that i have provided bellow. That takes you to the main website. There you have a few diffent options.

Good luck and please let me know how you get on.
Regards.
