Question about Lexmark E320 Laser Printer

Panel Lights stay on at power on

My Lexmark E320 panel lights all stay on when I power on the printer.
Pressing the Reset button does not help.
When I try to print Windows XP does not recognize the printer.
Have checked the USB connection cable and they were all tight. Tried changing the USB port but did not help.
Swapped ink cartridge, no difference.
I have had the printer for about 8 years so I am suspecting that there has been an electrical component failure.
Tried resetting the defaults by:
To entering the special function menu:
1 Turn off the printer.
2 Open the top cover.
3 Turn the printer back on.
4 When the Error light comes on, indicating the top cover is open, press and release the operator panel button twice quickly (double-button press).

Get no response.
Many thanks....Robert

The problem is the fuser is shot, they are still available and you might think about replacing the fed and sep tires at the same time.

* years..that might qualify you for an ancient printing award, from the manufacturer. Unless you are attached to that unit, you may find that it's high time to move to next step. I don't recall, in over 30 years of work, a printer with that longevity.

All six lights blinking. Have cycled power several times. How can I fix this?

The printer has a service error. There is a rest button below the 6 lights you see. Press and hold the reset button for at least 3 seconds. If that doesn't help.....Turn the main power off and on again. If the condition persists.....the printer may need to be serviced/diagnosed by a qualified technician.

I have a Lexmark X8300. All was ok till recently. I can print out anything from the computer but can't use the copy feature. Also, all of the lights stay on - the copy light, fax light, scan light,...

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print again.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/eO4Y77. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

My Lexmark e320 won't print PDF files. sometimes it will most of the time it won't The files arn't copy protected or over 4mb

Hi,

Try the following. Uninstall your Lexmark driver. Then restart the computer. Once you have uninstalled the Lexmark driver and restarted the computer then go to the following link http://bit.ly/9jfP20 and download the latest Lexmark E320 driver by choosing from the two options according to your operating system. That should take care of your problem. If that does not help. Then do the following. Go to Printers and Faxes. Then Right click on the Lexmark E320 Driver. Go to properties. Then Printing Preferences. Then Graphics Tab, Then Graphic Mode and select Raster then Apply the changes and try printing again. IF that does not work either then try lowering the resolution or playing with the graphic options.
Hope it helps.

S9000 will only print black if set on "high" print quality, then looks more grey than black

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please try to reset the printer by following the steps---

Turn the power off. Now hold down Resume button and press Power button. Keep holding down Power button and let the Resume button go. Press Resume button twice and then let both buttons go. Green light will flash then stop blinking. When Green light is solid, press Resume button 4 times. Now press the power button and the printer should turn off. If not, press the Power button once more.

If still the issue is not resolved, then please follow the procedure to uncheck the grayscale printing---

On the Windows desktop, click 'Start' then click 'Settings', then click 'Printers' (Windows XP: On the Start menu, click 'Printers and Faxes').

For Windows Vista: Click/Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then Click on 'Printers'.

Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.

For Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Printing Preferences'.

For Windows 98/Me: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Properties' and then on the Main tab, click on the 'Grayscale Printing' check-box to remove the check-mark. Click the 'OK' button to save the settings.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Our lexmark e234 printer has all lights flashing. Last job was 30 page document which printed out fine, then all lights started flashing. We have not been able to print since. Thank you:)

Hi,
Try resetting the printer to factory Defaults. First turn off the printer, then open the front cover like if you were to take the toner cartridge out. Once the front cover is open then push and hold the two buttons on the panel of the printer and turn the printer on. Make sure the front cover is open and that you are pushing the two buttons all the lights will flash and they will stop at the very bottom light and stay solid once that happens let go of the buttons and close the cover and that should reset the printer.
