Re: Hoover DT999 - Jammed Door
No. you dont want to take the door off. 1st thing to do is take off the side panels for access to door hinges and you should be able to see what is going wrong.
p.s. take the top panel off first before removing the side panels

jackie, had a similar problem. under the d/w is a plate that is fixed by screws on both sides. check if that is loose. While there move your fingers across the top of the plate - you will find something that is blocking.GL
basically it just pulls out of a slot downwards (when doors open) but there's not much space so I took out a few screws to free the door up a bit.
So - sitting with the machine in front of you and door open down towards you:
I took out the two machine screws that hold the door on to the spring/hinge mechanism. Those are the two on the side of the door near to the hinge/bottom. I also took out 3 of the screws that screw the inside metal bit of the door on to the plastic fron of the door.
You'll notice that the springs then force the inside and outside of the door apart and you've got some free space to pull the bottom seal out of the metal door. Then clean everything and squeeze the new seal in.
You're probably not going to be able to thread it in from one end.
When you're putting those two machine screws back in you'll probably need to do the top screw (nearest you when door open) with the door almost closed so that the spring is most relaxed and will let you line up the two holes.
few things to check for is the lower wash arm spinging freely if is is not turning properly it will cause the arm to spray in the corners also make sure there is no obstucktion in the wash arm all the small holes must be clear neck check your door gasket if not all flatened out thanks from gilles
It sound like a detergent cup issue (the door doesn't open at time)
A very simple test for it is to place a tablet on the bottom of the dishwasher for a full cycle and to see what happen to the tablet. In case the tablet will be dissolved :
- The detergent cup can become clogged with old dried detergent that prevents it from opening at time. Sometimes just cleaning the cup takes care of the problem.
- The detergent cup opened by a bi-metal switch or a wax motor located inside your dishwasher door(behind the detergent cup).
If cup's cleaning will not solve the problem, you should replace the bi-metal switch or the wax motor (depend which of them is used in your machine).
Good luck !
