Question about Paxar Monarch 9403 Thermal Printer
Monarch 9403 tag Printer shows message "check printhead" when you press continue the printer is fine, prints great no other issues until we power it off. It repeats the error each time we power it up. Printhead is fine.
This one is somewhat tough.
Most times when you get this error, you actually do have a printhead issue and you need to send the printer into their service department. If you're not printing a barcode, then these printers may show you this error, allow you to continue printing, but will print a grey box instead of barcode if there are bad dots falling within the barcode itself.
If the latter is your issue, sent it in. If the latter isn't your issue, you could potentially plug along without any worry until the human readable starts to get unreadable. Again, that would be the time to send it in.

This error occurs when the head has some damage. Check also that the head of the cable is properly connected.
