The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get their new product. It filters the water and takes out the hard minerals that cause spots and clog dishwashers. It is very affordable and has a money back guarantee.

Our Maytag MDB9100AWB is 5 years old. Have had repairman out several times. Problem is a light cloudy scum on everything. He has replaced several items, has had us clean parts and fixtures, etc and even...

There are three typical causes of chronic cloudiness on glassware/dishes.
  1. The incoming water may be too hot. Make sure the water is at or below 140 degrees F.
  2. Test to see if cloudiness is removable by hand cleaning or soaking for 5 minutes in white vinegar. If it is removable, it's due to hard water. Use a good quality detergent, and match the amount of detergent used to the water hardness and use a rinse aid. (Some low quality detergents clean poorly and leave a film.)
  3. Glassware may be etched, due to too much detergent, too high water temperature, or pre-washing. Etching is not reversible, so it's important to correct the problem promptly.
Hopefully these hints will help you to home in on the problem.

Glassware is cloudy even with use of rinse aid.

Your dishwasher may need to be cleaned. To clean it pour in two cups of vinegar and run your hottest, longest cycle

Also, always run the water in the sink until it is hot before turning on the dishwasher. This way you will always be cleaning the dishes with hot water.

Not coming clean

Hi, Are you using Jet Dry Rinse Agent? It is very important to keep the washer supplied with this stuff. Otherwise, glassware will come out with a cloudy film and water spots. If you are using it, perhaps it is not being dispensed by the machine. I am having this trouble now, but my machine is about 10 years old, and has always turned out beautiful glassware unless it ran out of Jet Dry. Now, there seems to be a problem in my machine not dispensing it, and I was searching for a solution when I came across your posting. Baxterdog
