There should be a hole in the housing towards the back of the saw, you can go to Makitatools.com and download a breakdown for this tool.

What is the spring for in the 2000w makita circular saw

Other than carbon brush springs, the only other spring that I know of on a circular saw is for the blade guard so that it will automatically return to cover the blade after you make the cut. There should be a hook or a bend in each end of the spring and each end has a certain spot where it hooks so that it pulls the blade guard back in place.

I don't have this particular model in my shop right now but almost all circular saws work like this. From the blade side of the saw, the spring attaches to a hole in the blade guard usually around the two to three o'clock position. With the blade guard correctly positioned on the saw, wrap the spring clockwise around the bottom of the hub and back up the nine o'clock side. There is another hole or tab inside the top of the upper blade guard somewhere around the twelve to two o'clock position. Hook the end of the spring there and test the guard for free movement throughout it's range of motion.

Cannot get saw blade off a makita 5090d saw.

Lift the guard and clamp the blade in a vice using a pair of soft jaws and then undo the bolt.

I have a Porter Circular Saw, 18v, Cordless, 6 and a half inch blade. I'm a novice, so I unhooked the wire latchet that held the lower guard on. I figured out how to put the saw blade on, yet I have the...

Remove the battery, take the blade back off and you will see the holes for the torsion spring. what you will have to do is start putting lower guard on but pretenstion the spring so it will fit back into the proper holes, it might be a benefit to remove the small bumper so that you can move the guard more. when installing the blade you don't remove the lower guard just retract it and slide the blade in place. Usually there is a retaining ring to hold the guard in place but I looked at a breakdown and didn't see one. Let me know if you need more assistance before voting please. Thank you

first remove the blade and make sure tool unplugged, one end of the spring goes into a slot in the housing and the other into a hole in the lower guard. make sure guard retracts completely (you might have to use some WD40 or similar product) Let me know if you still need help
