This is only a suggestion...try using a code for an Orion TV or an Emerson TV. See codes on the back of the instructions of the replacement remote! Hmmmmm.......... try it and see.

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

The nursing home my mother is in has a Toshiba 13A24 TV in ;her room. The can't find the remote and I wanted to get her a universal and be able to set it up for her What do you advise

Hello, a Universal remote should have the codes already set for the Toshiba so it shouldnt be too hard, just follow the instructions. Just remember that some of the cheaper remotes dont have all the codes.so make sure you get a good quality one,she deserves it!

I changed the batteries in the oneforall remote control, I can get the buttons to work, and light the little red light at the top, but it won't change the channel, or raise and lower the volume, or turn on...

When you removed the batteries, you drained the memory. You will now need to reprogram the unit. That might be a problem if you don't have the original manual that came with it (probably not much more than a sheet of paper.

Easiest way to fix the problem would be to buy one of those JUMBO remotes at CVS or Walgreens. They are only about $10 and since they are oversize they would be the perfect thing for an elderly person. Big keys and bigger case so it will be easy to find.

Good Luck

Closed Caption Durabrand #1091A

Unless you can get at closed-caption settings from the front-panel menu buttons, you're out of luck. Many TVs have this problem. Without the original remote you don't have access to all functions.

Sorry there isn't a more hopeful answer.
