Place your cd in the player, it should open up in your media player and you can right click on your mouse or in the File menu press copy disc. You can then come back later and burn to a disc if your cd in a burner and not a cd-rom.

I am new to the computer world & need some help ? How do i transfer my pictures from my computer to a disc ? Thanks

This is for windows 7:
Click the Burn button.
  1. Open your Pictures library from the Start menu and select your desired photos.
  2. Select the photos and folders you want to copy by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking their icons. Or, to select all the photos within a folder, press Ctrl+A.
  3. Need to select photos from multiple folders? Don't select any photos or folders in this step. Proceed with the rest of the burn process and Windows 7 will open an empty window showing the newly inserted disc's contents: nothing. Drag and drop the photos you want to burn into that window. When you're ready, go back to the Pictures Library and click Burn.

  4. Insert a blank CD or DVD into your writable disc drive.

  5. Decide how you want to use the disc:

    1. Like a USB flash drive:

    2. Choose this option when you intend for other PCs to read the disc. Windows 7 treats the disc much like a folder, letting you copy additional photos to the disc later.
    3. With a CD/DVD player: Choose this option to create discs that play on CD and DVD players attached to TVs. Don't choose this unless you plan to view the disc on a TV. You can't add any images to this disc later, so be sure to get them all selected the first time.

  6. Type a name for your disc and click Next.

  7. Click the Burn or Burn to Disc button again, if necessary.

You may forget to create a Windows 7 password reset disk, but resetting Windows 7 password on your own without reinstalling computer is still not a big problem. Just follow the below 4 steps, then you can reset Windows 7 password.

Step 1: Pick one good Windows password recovery tool
To reset Windows 7 password by yourself, you need to use good Window password recovery software. See if the software can reset lost or forgotten Windows password for your Windows 7.Most of the Windows password recovery software available in the market support password recovery for most popular Windows operating systems, like Windows 7/ Vista/XP.
Then, select the appropriate edition of the Windows password recovery tool to reset Windows 7 password. Generally speaking, Windows password recovery tool has 2 or 3 different editions to reset lost Windows password. Take Windows Password Recovery for example, it has 3 editions.

Step 2: Prepare a PC with driver and a bootable CD/DVD or USB drive
As your PC is locked and you are not able to log on it, you need to find another available computer to download and install the Windows password recovery you choose to burn a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset Windows 7 password. Please note the computer should have a driver. Both internal and external driver are Ok. Insert the burned CD/DVD or USB flash drive in your locked computer and boot the locked PC from CD/DVD or USB. Then you can reset Windows 7 password under Windows PE. First choose the user name whose password you want to reset and click Reset button, and then click Ok to confirm and continue your operation. Click Ok when the password has been successfully reset.

Burn a Data CD or DVD in Windows 7 Using Media Player

You can burn a data CD or data DVD in Windows 7 using Media Player. An audio CD can contain just approximately eight minutes of music. On the other hand, if you burn a data CD or data DVD in Windows 7 using Media Player, it will be able to hold numerous hours of music. Video files and pictures can also be added to the data discs.
When you burn a data CD or data DVD in Windows 7, the Windows Media Player does not transform the selected files to a different format prior to saving them to a blank data disc, so the files stay in the compressed condition. This allows you to put much more items on a single disc.As the format of the files is not changed, the quality of the files remains the same.

You can burn a data CD or data DVD in Windows 7 using Media Player as follows:
  • Click Start.
  • Click All Programs.
  • Select Windows Media Player.
  • Click the Burn tab in the Player Library.
  • Click Burn options and select Data DVD or CD.
  • Insert a blank disc into the CD or DVD burner of your computer.
  • Close the AutoPlay dialog box if it comes into sight.
  • Some people have more than one CD drive in their computer. If you have multiple CD drives in your computer too, select the one you would like to use in the navigation window.
  • Look for the songs you want to burn.
  • In order to make your burn list, drag the songs from the details pane in the center of the Player Library to the list pane which is on its right side.
  • You can also change the order of the items in the burn list by dragging them upward or downward in the list.
  • To remove a song from your list, simply right-click on the item and click on Remove from list.
  • After you finish making your list, click upon Start burn.
It can take a while to burn a data disc. If your selected items cannot fit in one disc, you also have the choice of burning the rest of the items to a different disc. A data DVD is not the same as a DVD-Video disc ex. the movie DVD you buy or rent from the store.

I forgot my password to my sylvania(SYNET7WID) netbook how do I unlock it

This solution will work if you have forgotten your Windows password. It will not work if you have forgotten your boot password or hard drive password etc.

Read on if you want to use a USB flash drive. Scroll down if you would rather burn a CD/DVD.

USB Flash Drive Method
You need to download a Windows password cracker, put it on a flash drive, and boot it outside of the Windows environment. This solution will show you how to do that.

1. Download the Ophcrack Windows password cracker from here. For Windows 7, click on the ophcrack Vista LiveCD. Ophcrack is one of the best free Windows password recovery tools available. It's fast and easy even for a first time Windows password cracker. Save file to Desktop.

2. Download Xboot 1.0.0.0 Beta 6 here. Save file to Desktop. Unzip file and extract to Desktop.

3. Plug a USB flash drive into your PC and format it with a FAT32 file system. This can be done by opening "My Computer" and right clicking on the USB flash drive and selecting Format. Select FAT32 and click OK. (Note: this will erase all data on your flash drive.)

4. Open Xboot.exe. Select the Ophcrack ISO file you downloaded and drag it onto the Xboot screen.

5. Click on "Create USB" found i
n the bottom right hand corner of the Xboot window.

6. Select your USB drive and click OK. Wait for your USB flash drive to be created.

7. Restart computer and press F10 or appropriate function key for your computer to enter the temporary boot menu. It may be F12 or F9 etc. Look at the first screen that appears when you turn on the computer and you will see which key to press. You also could enter the BIOS and change the boot order if you would prefer that method.

8. Select USB Flash Drive from the boot menu.

9. The Ophcrack LiveCD will now boot. Hit enter to select the Graphic Mode option when it appears.

10. Ophcrack will automatically begin cracking your passwords. The longer and more complicated the password is the longer it will take to crack. 99% of passwords are crackable. Any password over 14 characters cannot be cracked. This program found my 8 character password which contains letters and numbers in less than 10 minutes.

11. Write down your password when it's cracked. Remove the USB drive and restart computer.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

Burn a CD/DVD Method

You need to download a Windows password cracker, burn it to a CD/DVD, and boot it outside of the Windows environment.

2. Burn the Ophcrack LiveCD ISO file to a CD/DVD using the Windows 7 Disk Image Burner or another burning program. For Windows 7 users, please follow steps 2a and 2b. If you are using Vista or XP you will need to use a CD/DVD burning program already installed or download and install a free program such as the one here.
2a. Right click on the ISO file and select "Open with" and then select Windows Disk Image Burner or another CD/DVD burning program.
2b. Put a CD-R or DVD-R into the DVD/CD drive and select Burn. Wait for the burning process to finish.

3. Restart computer and press F10 or appropriate function key for your computer to enter the temporary boot menu. It may be F12 or F9 etc. Look at the first screen that appears when you turn on the computer and you will see which key to press. You also could enter the BIOS and change the boot order if you would prefer that method. Many computers already have the CD/DVD drive as the first boot drive so you may not have to do this step.

4. Select CD/DVD from the boot menu.

5. The Ophcrack LiveCD will now boot. Hit enter to select the Graphic Mode option when it appears.

6. Ophcrack will automatically begin cracking your passwords. The longer and more complicated the password is the longer it will take to crack. 99% of passwords are crackable. Any password over 14 characters cannot be cracked. This program found my 8 character password which contains letters and numbers in less than 10 minutes.

7. Write down your password when it's cracked. Remove the CD/DVD and restart computer.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

I need a driver to download free, lg 52x max, I've had my computer formatted and the driver cd was lost, now I cannot save info on cd's because my cd rom is not working. Please help me

Optical drives do not require drivers and Windows XP and higher have built-in CD burning capability (Windows 7 can natively burn DVDs too) so the issue may be a glitch in windows:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3688895-cd_rom_or_dvd_drive_not_seen_in_windows
if the issue is you want or need CD burning software, then try this:

I'd like to know how to retrive the trailers that i've downloaded

Depending on what files you want to burn to CD. If it is just Data then insert a blank CD and open with nero, choose burn data cd. In the window that comes up next browse your computer for the files that you want to burn, then click on add, once you have added all of the files that you want to burn click finished. Another window will come up with the option to name the cd and for you to decide on whether this cd will be for use with your computer only or with all/most cd players you should also be given the choice as to whether or not you want to make the cd a multi session cd (meaning that you can add more data to it at a later time, please note though that if you do add more data to the cd at a later date do not rename the cd otherwise it will not work.) Once you have chosen your desired options then click on burn to burn the cd.

If you are not sure where your downloaded files have been saved then run a search in windows for the files and make a note of where they are.

I hope this helps
