Couldn't format and burn the DVD+RW

We use nero 7 to burn the data DVD by using your DVD-RW disks (1x-2.4x) but each time it failed saying this is an illegal DVD disk!

Hi,
It could be a problem of the version you are using with Nero 7, try upgrading. It also could be that you are try to burn the DVD RW at a speed it cannot be burned (say 4x), try burning it at 2x.
Hope this works!

How do I format a DVD-R disc so that I can use it again?

You can't format a DVD-R disc. A DVD-R is a write-once format: once you've burned the data onto that DVD platter, the disk is forever frozen with that information.

Please refer to the link below for more details on DVD formats:

Generally, you can erase DVD-RW discs using any CD/DVD burning utility (e.g. Nero). They usually have an option to erase a disc.

HOW TO GET NERO7 TO BURN ON DVD +RW

probably you are interested in making a multi-session disk using Nero ...yep ..there is a way ...the only thing after you choose the files to burn ,the device ..( dvd writer ) ...name teh project ...and look that at some point there is a case to be checked and allow you to burn multi -session data disk ...this means that the disk will be able to be used again for the space that remain ....
if you are talking about the re - writable disk ...this is simple ..any RW disk ..can be deleted using Nero ...the feature its on the lower on the session window ...its says something like "more " and it offers information about the disk you inserted...and the possibility to erase it ...I believe that this is the exactly used word...erase disk (feature) ..

Nero 6 and 7 does not provides us the facilitiy of burning the DVD in appropriate DVD Format. Instead it burns the DVD in the normal DATA Format, which is not supportable by our DVD Player. To play the DVD in our DVD Player we should burn the DVD in the appropriate DVD Burner which itself converts the extension of the movie and make it proper for a DVD Player to read it. It also adds some files to the DVD which is sometimes used by the dvd player in running the DVD.

I can't write DVD with my Pioneer DVR-107D DVD±RW

What brand of media are you using?

You are burning at 2x because that is the highest that this drive supports.

You would also want to instruct Nero to Verify by ticking the check box and either finalize disc or make it mulitsession, if your burner supports multisession DVDs

DVD+RW compatibility

your dvd only writes to dvd-r and dvd-rw, but writes to both cdr + and - r/rw. To confirm it go into nero tools and nero info tools and all the ticks in the boxes are what your drive supports
