Sounds like there is a short on the motherboard that is keeping it from starting or even accepting external power.
My suggestion: a new motherboard is probably in order.

My HP ALL IN ONE would not come on when press power button. Blue light does not come on either.

try connecting the printer on another power supply and see if it will power on if not try another power cable with same specs if you have to check if this only a problem with the cable or with the printer itself..
If still printer not powering up , have it check by the manufacturer or replace it from them if still under warranty...

Hope that helps.......

No power supply on cpu in Acer Aspire One PC Notebook

If the power will come from the battery, make sure the battery is fully charged. If it's plugged in to a wall outlet, unplug both ends, make sure the outlet works, count to 10, plug everything back in. I hope the solution is as simple as this. Good luck!

Even when laptop is plugged into an electrical outlet, it will suddenly think it is not and drain the battery power..the indicator lights will flash and battery power will drain.

There may be a fault in the laptop's power supply adapter.

Try testing its rated output voltage versus the actual with a multimeter.

If the adapter comes in 2 sections, 1 cord from the wall to the adapter, and then the adapter to the laptop, be sure to test both sections.

Replace the adapter if required.

Also check that the connection socket where the power adapter plugs into the laptop is not loose and preventing proper electrical contact.

Good luck.

Our canon MP560 printer will not turn on - it was plugged into a surge protector and we have tried moving the plug to alternate outlets just to make sure that wasn't the problem...help!

This is what worked for me. I had a similar setup and could not get the printer to turn on. Remove the power supply from the back of the machine. It is a very simple process: pull apart two small plastic connectors with your fingers to remove power supply. Disconnect internal blue cable from power supply.

Replug blue cable and be sure it is plugged in tight.
Push power supply back into place, be careful of blue cable when pushing it back into printer.
Plug in and printer just may work...good luck!

Remove Any Docking Stations or Port Replicators From the Computer Note: Docking stations and port replicators are optional equipment. If you are unsure if you have a docking solution attached to your computer, refer to Table 1 and Table 2 for examples. To remove the docking station or port replicator, perform the following steps: Shut down the computer. Remove the docking station: Universal Docking Stations: Disconnect the docking station's USB cable from the computer. D/Port or D/Dock: Remove any cable locks from the security slot on the right side of the docking station. Move the slide lock forward to the unlocked position. Press the Eject button and lift the computer from the docking station. C/Port II or C/Dock II: Remove any cable locks from the security slot on the left side of the docking station. Pull the locking lever forward until it stops to eject the computer, then slide the computer out of the docking station. Dell manufactures the following docking stations and port replicators (Table 1): D-series DocksC-series DocksSpecialty Docks D/PortLatitude? C/Port IIMedia Bases D/DockLatitude? C/Dock IIInspiron? C Series laptop computer AC adapters may not have a light. The new E series power adapter indicator light is either a blue ring or a blue dot and is located at the tip, on the DC connector, not on the power brick itself (Figure 1). Plug the AC Adapter into a Known-Good Wall Outlet Verify the wall outlet is known-good by testing it with another device, such as a lamp. Confirm there are no power strips, surge protectors, or uninterruptible power supplies (UPS devices) connected to the power cable. UPS devices provide temporary power for a computer when there is no electricity available from the wall socket, such as during a power outage. Plug the power cable into the known-good wall outlet. Was using the laptop (dv6426us) and it just cut off. Was plugged into outlet with power supply, no warning messages prior to that. Now it will not power on at all, no lights, no beeps, nothing. If I unplug...

First, measure the voltage coming out of the power supply. If it is good (specs will be on the power brick itself.) then this sounds like a short on the motherboard. To eliminate all else, remove anything that is removable (hard drive, CD/DVD and RAM). Leave the battery out also. Plug in the power supply and see if it beeps. If not, you have a bad motherboard. If it does beep, replace the ram. At that point, you should be able to see POST. If you get nothing, it is the ram. Keep adding until the problem resurfaces. The last item added is the culprit.
Good luck.

Pc won't power ( turn on)

The green light is most likely your lan card/port. If the cord/outlet are sparking when you plug it in, I would say try plugging something else into that socket, if you get the same spark, I'd call an electrician. Also try plugging the pc into a different outlet. As far as the computer, if its not the outlet then it is the power supply, your motherboard may be fried in the process but if this isn't an issue with that outlet, then you should take it in to a shop.

If the green light on your LaCie power supply does not light, you likely have a bad power supply. You can buy a new one from LaCie. If you are purchasing a new power supply from LaCie ask for the higher wattage unit. LaCie upgraded this a while back.
