Common problem with the GE dryers is the start button will crack and will not catch the stem. Try changing the start knob over with the heat selection knob and see if you can start then.

The freezer defrost light is on - we moved the freezer!!! a solution on your site was to turner the timer until the motor was heard to 'kick in' - there is no manual with this freezer...

Whooa,
You can not blame the people who are trying to help.
The more information you can give the better the diagnosis.
This , from your information, sounds like the defrost timer has stopped half way through it's cycle. A new defrost timer may be needed.
Find the defrost timer, advance the motor forward until it clicks. the compressor should now start and cool the fridge.

Is the button NC or NO? I have it currently wired this way but still it does not work and I'm using a switch not a button. Any suggestion?

The switch is OFF or NO normally open
See wiring diagram at following link
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-Dayton-Off-Delay-Timer.html

The way the timer works is this::
You click switch ON
When you turn switch OFF, the Dayton begins the timing sequence
The Dayton turns on the circuit going to load for 1/2 second => 5 minutes depending on model of Dayton timer

Grainger sells 120V push buttons if you don't want to turn the switch on-and-off each time

This worked for me ... I got this from going through the Help/Online Help from within the program.

In the Print Preview window that appears, click the Zoom In button and click Close to return to the project. The Page Turner button will now display.

Washer runs when timer dial turned though ON button not pushed

Problem solved by ourselves! It was NOT in the circuit board (brain) of the machine. It was NOT in the door locking assembly as others would lead us to believe. It WAS the on/off switch on the control panel--part number 22002560 - a $22.00 problem fix.

Duet Sport dryer does not start. When you press the start button, it goes through the process but never begins.

If it sounds like the timers clicking but not turning on you might have a bad thermal fuse.
