I suspect you have a broken weld or rivet between your inner tub and the brake, spider assembly, or drum shaft. If you reach into the drum when it is empty, and turn the drum by hand, see if you can hear the knocking noise from the middle of the back of the inner drum. If this is where the noise is coming from, your machine is not worth repairing. If the noise is coming from somewhere else, you could have something in your outer tub that is hitting the tub. Quite involved to get at on most models and highly unlikely anyway. If none of these help you, then get me the model number and brand and I will see what else could be the problem. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Could be a slow drain or clogged pump filter, the knocking could simply be a displaced damper. It all goes south if the water won't drain properly, that makes for some weird noises. Inpossible to know for sure without doing some checks. If you have an error posted then that will give a clue. Here are a few error codes:
1)Water fill problem: water too more than 10 minutes to
fill to desired level sometimes indicated as a LF/IE or
long fill/inlet error. Water valve screens clogged, hoses kinked, low water pressure, unpaid water bill.
2)Excessive vibration: noisy, knocking noises. bad damper, bearing or broken trunnion.
3)Dispenser drawer open/detergent in wrong compartment:
washer will not operate with drawer open or cleaning
products in wrong compartment.
4)Washer won't drain: clogged pump/filter, slow or clogged
drain usually indicated a an LD/DE if a code is given
(long drain)
5)Drum overfilled: usually cased by sediment in the water
level pressure sensing tube going up to the main control.
6)Door open, Door not latched, clothes keeping door from
completly closing.
7)Cold water does not enter washer: hoses connected backwards
8)Oversudsing: Wrong Detergent, turbidity monitors pick up
particles in the water and judge soil content then the
washer allows for extra time to wash the clothes, if the
wrong detergent is in there the machine thinks that is too
much and declares a suds error.
9)Locked motor: error LE,loose connection,broken
wire/hallsensor, motor overheated/failed.
10)Heating error, hE, the thermister/heater is out.

1)Water fill problem: water took more than 10 minutes to

fill to desired level sometimes indicated as a LF/IE or

long fill/inlet error. Water valve screens clogged, hoses kinked, low water pressure, unpaid water bill. Check hose, clean screens.
2)Excessive vibration: noisy, roar, knocking noises. Bad damper, bearing or broken trunnion. no error code
3)Dispenser drawer open/detergent in wrong compartment:

washer will not operate with drawer open or cleaning

    products in wrong compartment.
4)Washer won't drain: clogged pump/filter, slow or clogged

drain usually indicated as a LD/DE, if a code is given

(long drain/drain error) Clear pump of objects
5)Drum overfilled: usually caused by sediment in the water

level pressure sensing tube going up to the main control.Find it and blow out the sediment, re-secure pump out water and retry.
6)Door open, Door not latched, clothes/objects keeping door from completely closing. Tighten door latch, add washers if necessary to make good contact and close door tighter in case of leaks.
7)Cold water does not enter washer: hoses connected backwards. Oops.
8)Over sudsing: Wrong Detergent, turbidity monitors pick up

particles in the water and judge soil content then the

washer allows for extra time to wash the clothes, if the

wrong detergent is in there the machine thinks that is too

much and declares a suds error. Remove detergent, retry
    9)Locked motor: error LE,loose connection,broken

    wire/hallsensor, motor overheated/failed.

Knocking from the drum

You really should realize that when clothes get wet, they get heavy. If those heavy clothes are sticking to one place on the drum it will be out of balance and knock at the sides of the washer. If this happens, simply open the door (not when the washer is full of water, of course) and the drum will stop spinning. Just spread the wet stuff around the drum surface and close the door...voila!

You have the belt on wrong. There is a side with numbers or writing on it and ribbed side like treads. The tread side should be facing down, making contact with the drum. If the other side is touching the drum then whenever clothes are put in the belt will slip causing the drum not to

Sounds like a jet engine at full spin cycle

These things are notorious for sucking clothing under the the drum , it could cause it to be noisy spin slow and have drain problems . This is such a poor design . Try removing the drum and see if there is an article of clothing under it , mine sucked up a mans large shirt . Even if the drum seems to spin freely it still could be the problem .

it could be the break above the transmission. it engages what looks like break shoes when the machine is not spinning. if these are worn down to the rivets then it will make this noise. it requires a special tool to replace.0de7df9.jpg

Have to dry close twice on automatic, or once on timed. Random triple beeps.

Sounds like the drum belt has broken. It's connected around the drum and motor pulley. Without the belt turning the drum it will be near to impossible to dry the clothes, Hope this helps, Sea Breeze

Try balancing the clothes evenly,if that not the problem, the balancing ring at the very top is either broken or a snap ring or rings are off.
