D-Link DPR-1260 print server setup problem

Having a little issue setting up this print server (DPR-1260 for HP PSC 2410xi printer) on my existing home wireless network (consisting of: Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop/TimeWarner-Arris cable modem/D-Link DIR-615 N router w/WPA2 encryption).

I successfully installed and printed a test page using the online setup wizard. This was done while connected with an ethernet cable as called for in the install guide. Then went to wireless settings and immediately encountered a log-in screen for the print server - I have no idea what password is required here - please help. This log-in screen is more of a mystery as it does not show in the printer installation guide.

Please let me know what this password is/should be so I can complete the wireless settings.

thanks very much for any help.

I have a DPR-1260 usb print server. set up a breeze for PC's but cannot get macbook to identify it. Getting no where fast with wireless printing an macs. Help

  1. To make sure your Mac can see the print server, open up your favorite browser, and enter the IP address of your print server, as assigned by DHCP on your router into the URL box. (My router assigned the IP address 192.168.0.100.) On this web page, be sure to note the IP address and LPR queue name.
  2. Open up the Printer Setup Utility (/Applications/Utilities/Printer Setup Utility).
  3. Hold down the Option key while clicking on More Printers...
  4. In the next dialog box, under Device, choose LPD/LPR Host or Printer.
  5. In the Device Name field, give your printer any name you want. Since my shared multi-function printer is an HP PSC 2110, I simply named mine PSC2110.
  6. In the Device URI field, enter the following: LPD://IP_Address/LPR_queue_name, using the information gathered in step two. For example, mine was LPD://192.168.0.100/PSC2100Series.
  7. To be able to use the shared scan features, create a bookmark to http://IP_Address/scan.html (e.g., "http://192.168.0.100/scan.html" for my setup), so you can operate your scanner from a web interface.

Problem with DPR-1260

this kind of problem occurs in dlink router sometimes & after some time router stop responding after 10 -15 min & once u reboot the router it again start work for a while. the best solution to this problem is to reset the router back to its factory defualt settings u can do this by press the reset button on the back on the router ( it looks like a small hole u have to use a pin for press that button) once u have reset the router to factory default settings just reconfig the router & i am sure it will start working fine in case u still face the same problem just contact D-link or send me the details about the problem & the physical setup of ur router & printer etc
