Question about RCA HD52W59 HDTV Projection Television
I have HD52W59 that stop working while we were watching it. When we turned it back on I saw an arc coming from the front of the TV. I removed the front cover and cleaned a lot of dust from the circuit boards. I plugged the TV back in and found the arcing coming from the CRT on the right side facing the TV. My guess is that this CRT is out. If so does anyone know the pat number? And where is a good place to fide one? If this is not the problem then what do you think it is? Thanks for your help.
Blue Crt arching... on the board or on crt? most likely if it is arching you are right in suspecting the tube. These tube are around 240 dollars per tube and then i would sugest replaceing crt board. I work on alot of these at the shop. bottom line if there not under warenty then really not worth fixing. these set cost about 800 new it would cost around 500 to fix. crt replacement of these set is a very involved process. I think almost ever screw in the set has to come out and then after you get it all back together. theres the alignement issues.. im not saying dont do it just if you like a challenge go for it.
