Question about X2Gen MG19MY 19" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

I have a X2gen MW19A monitor that will not display anymore. The green power button just blinks no matter what computer it is attached to. Any ideas on how to fix it or even how to open it up to see what is wrong.

Power supply section will be the first palce to look, I use very thin but strong flat blade tip screw driver and strong tweezer with strong tip to open up the case starting at the bottom edge first after all the screws and base are removed, see example of tools and dead monitors due to bad caps here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you find inside so we can guide you further.

What kind of operating system ex. (Vista, XP, Win 7, etc.) are you using? Trying going into display settings. Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Display >Change Display Settings > Then click detect. If your computer cannot find it then there is a problem with the actual screen.

How old is it? If it's less than a year old from when you bought it, it should still be covered under warranty.

When i push my power button on my flatscreen monitor, the power light will turn green then blink off for 2 secnds then blink on

Could you please explain more about your problem. Are you able to get your monitor working or is it that it keeps on blinking without any display on screen.

If your CPU is ON and then your facing no display on the monitor then the problem could not be with the monitor instead it could be either a loose RAM. Also check that the cables attached to the CPU is not loose.

Monitor shows picture for 1/2 second then goes black, 22" display. also will not show display menus. have hooked another monitor up and works fine. also have hooked up to another computor and problem...

When you switch the monitors, do you still use the very same vga cable? If you don't, then it's time to change the monitor. When it turns on and off inmediately it means that it's receiving the signal, but that's it. If it's brand new, exchange it.

No picture - power button is blinking green

The "blink" is an indication that the monitor is *NOT* getting any signal from your computer's video-card. Either your video-card is the problem, or your computer is "sleeping", and you cannot "wake" it.

Reboot your computer, and watch the monitor, to see if anything at all is displayed.

Reboot with a different monitor connected, to see if anything at all is displayed.

If another monitor works, your monitor is the problem. If neither monitor works, it's the vide-card inside your computer that is the problem.

Blinking Power Light and monitor will not come back on....

The monitor needs an internal eletronic repair. Do you have the the necessary anti static tools including soldering iron. If so I can help you with the repair, else take it to a pro.

Green Power light blinking

Check the resolution in the Windows while connected to the old monitor. If greater than 1280 X 1024 and/or the refresh rate exceeds 75 Hz, the monitor may not respond. But you should at least see the BIOS splash when the computer is turned on. If that does not appear, maybe a problem has occurred in the monitor. Another indicator: if you turn the monitor power button off and then back on, you should get some sign of life such as "no signal", or "out of range". If nothing appears, that would indicate some problem within the monitor.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!
