NEVER mix surge protectors and UPS!!!. Doing so overloads whoever of the two gets connected to the wall. This equipment is built to be plugged DIRECTLY to the wall. Your unit just crossed it's inner battery. Take it to a recycling center, then stop on your favorite electronis shop and buy a new one.

I was having a problem with mine that the battery back up plugs no longer worked. I figured the battery inside was bad. I removed the battery and tested the wires that go to the battery to se what voltage was being out put to those wires to see if the unit would charge a good battery. If the unit was off the voltage was 14.1 volts which is good. I turned my unit on and my unit was displaying the symptoms your units are are now experiencing. Sounds like your batteries are bad.

It would appear that you need to replace the battery on this unit.
You could get a new battery from a local battery specialty store like Batteries Plus or Interstate Battery, or online at www.replacementupsbattery.com. A new battery would be about $30. If you took your old battery there, they could recycle your old one, as well as match it up with the correct one you would need (HR9-12 battery).
We have a 3 year warranty on all our battery back up units. If you have any questions, you could contact us here at CyberPower Systems Technical Support at 877-297-6937, M-F 8-5 Central, or email us at email@example.com.

Hi. I've had one since 2003 no problems. Then suddenly I come home and the power had temp gone out, come back on and the tone is constant. I hit the button, on and off. powers, then off, a couple of beeps. Nothing improved it.
I read online...the back up battery eventually wears out and can be replaced! This will happen will all units, it's normal. No biggie and less expensive than a new unit. I haven't replaced mine yet as this all coincided with a new computer purchase and I was planning on getting at least one more unit anyway, so I've just grabbed a 825 off the shelf. I'll figure out ordering a replacement battery as I have time, and perhaps order a couple of smaller units for some other applications in the house.
One of these units is cheaper than the deductible on insurance, and I've had lighting just going overhead take out 2 tv's and such in different houses, 3 different events totalling thousands. My cyberpower protected the tower and computer I'm using now, but others in the house, router, etc were destroyed. You can't risk getting those hits on your insurance if you can help it. If only I'd had one hooked up to the garage door opener, lol. $61 would have saved me $500.

That's a tell tale sign of wornout batteries. They last about 3-4 years in a UPS like this. Here's a replacement: http://www.batteryinternational.com/cyber-power-cps325sl-ups-battery-ups-batteries-f1.html
