Question about Uniden ELBT595 Cordless Phone
Purchased a new (not refurb) unit online. Base works fine but handset does not turn on even after charging on base for over 12 hrs!. Does the handset need to be manually turned on or should it be automatic after charging. Is this a handset charging problem? The charge light on the base lights up but nothing else on the handset does when it is in it's cradle. Can it be a bad battery on the handset?
Any answers will be appreciated
Check the handset battery -- if there is a slight "bulge" on one side (ie: not COMPLETELY flat) then the problem is with the battery. I had that problem and had to order a new one. That said, I just installed the new battery, and while it now charges, the handset won't connect to the base unit. The base unit works (tried the speakerphone), but there is not connection between base and handset.
