To decide on the bearing just listen to when you hear the noise. Is it when the unit is draining then its the drain pump. And if its making a bad noise that gets louder and louder as the drum spins till you cant hear yourself think your bearing has gone bad. Check your owners manual because unfortunatley the only way to replace the rear bearing is to replace the rear half of the tub. The bearing is mounted into the rear tub and cant be replaced otherwise. Sometimes the tub is covered for longer than the original 1 year warranty. Hope this helps.

SOUNDS LIKE JET PLANE WHEN IT GETS BY RINSE AN SPIN TIME

I assume you mean it sounds like a jet plane when it spins, if so, I suspect a bad tub bearing. Depending on age of the machine, probably too expensive to repair.

Washing machine sounds like a jet plane, when spinning

I would suspect that the main drum bearings have failed.
From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, and if it feels rough or is noisy, then the bearings have failed.
There should be little or no noise when you spin the drum.

I have a maytag neptune washer mah9700aww which sounds like a jet during the spin cycle can someone please tell me what this is?

The main bearing in the tub has gone out, usually happens form the water seal going out first and the bearing getting rusted. The bearing comes as an assembly with the rear half of the tub. Both the rear half of the tub, and the drum will need to be replaced.

Sounds like a bearing is out. i would like to fix myself

if its a front load and sounds like a jet plane taking off when in spin cycle, yes its the drun bearing(s) inner and or outer and the lip-water seal on the outer rear drum area,it takes a while if they get stuck bad,be careful driving out the bearings as if you shatter the outer plastic tub they cost about $500.00 to replace so don't hammer on the bearings too hard and use and let sit in penetrating oil before trying to hammer out

Maytag Neptune stacking washer, model #MLG2000AWW, sounds like a jet engine warming up during spin cycle. Otherwise it is quiet and works well. Is a main bearing going out? Is it something I can fix...

you can but it wouldnt be economical to fix it if it sounds like a jet it is yr rear bearing and although the part might be only 60 dollars the amount of time it would take someone to do the job correctly is about 2-3hrs if you can do the job yourself then you would save on a large labor bill ive seen some techs price doing this job at starting prices of 400 you can find the part at marcone appliance parts if you choose to do the job yrself hope this helps

Loose drum

If your machine is a front load washer, and it's a few years old a loose drum which is noisy, probably means that the bearings at the rear have collapsed.Water gets through the seal and goodnight bearings and probably the shaft as well......Sorry......Nomess

Spins only with manually start /spin sounds like jet engine

Throw this machine out; it is a piece of junk. Transmission shaft is probably scored up so new bearings will do you no good. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

YEA!!!!!! thats a bad rear bearing, depending on age, id call a local authorized maytag servicer and see what they get to repalce it for you, perhaps you still have a part warr on certain parts, otherwise irts not worth the cost of repair

Loud noise on spin cycle

How did that answer get an 83% rating? It is absolutely useless. My washer has the exact same problem as described above.During the spin cycle it sounds like a jet engine. It kinda sounds like the belt hitting the drive wheel but may be bearings in the motor.
