Nintendo Wii console will not read the disc. I've tried the Wii lens cleaning kit and it still does not read the disc.

Same exact thing happened to me and I had to replace the drive. Only cost $18 for a refurbished on eBay. I also made a video showing how I did it.

Wii will not read discs

The first step is to check the disc. If you are sure this is not a problem with the game disc, then this is usually a problem with either the laser inside of the Wii's drive, or some other issue going on inside of the DVD drive. The following website sells the DVD drive mechanisms and does repairs on the Wii as well. If you have tried cleaning the system already, there's probably a problem with the DVD reader:

My wii has nothing but a black screen when i turn it on

verify that the a/v cables are hooked up properly to your tv and that your tv is set to the correct input so you can see the video and hear the audio.

If you have already done this then go ahead and use a different set of A/V cables to make sure your using a good set.

If after this you still get a black screen then your mainboard inside of your Wii is bad and would need to be replaced.

Wii makes a buzzing sound when discs are running

The noise is the wii working extra hard to read the disk the lens might be dirty. Your wii might also have a bomb in it.............Just kidding. I would try cleaning the inside and if all is bad send it in to get fixed

Disc Error

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide....

Wont eject game disc

From a previous FixYa member:

"I managed to eject a WII disc out manually very easily:
- Disconnect the drive
- You see the white plastic mechanism on your right side and the wheel connected to the motor
- turn the wheel towards the back side of the drive while pushing the half inch square plastic piece towards the left.
You will see the disc coming out while you are turning the wheel."

Wii wont take disc in

The drive sensor or the motor for pulling in the disk isn't working. Also, make sure there isn't a disk already in the wii by hitting the eject button. You'll need to send it in for repair if there is no game in it.

Guitar Hero 3 can't hear player 2

The discs are flawed. Activision has worked with Nintendo to improve the audio experience and has re-mastered the game. They are offering Wii consumers who have Dolby capabilities or audio issues free replacement discs.

Customers based in North America that want to register for a free replacement disc can call (866) 780-8286 from 8:00am-8:00pm EST, Monday-Friday, or register online at the following website http://www.activisiongameexchange.com/.

Good Luck!
